"Herd Immunity" is Epidemiological Neoliberalism: in other words, if you're poor, elderly, disabled, unemployed or a refugee, you're collateral damage. It's not just bad science or bad policy. It is biological warfare. https://t.co/PmTy02JYU6
"If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth & power, but for the sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young & ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, (…) as possibility !"
A fantastic example! Diversification of qualification pathway, particularly in relation to class/socio-economic background is essential to address architectures enduring inequalities - tho class is an area that architecture diversity surveys seem to have overlooked so far ...
@the_eco_thought Btw,I wanted to mention how much I like Senser since the beginning..and your lyrics for ‘peace’ in ‘stacked up’ which continue to be inspiring, just like pretty much everything in that album..(my post-doc project is about love, care and delay in architecture/spatial practices)
@KazbarBurns @helenejuliaf @JustineClark You have a point, and indeed we should work hard to change today’s asymmetric injustice(s)..but I do believe part of the solution involves developing other (non-binary, non-gendered...) ways of talking about and naming and making things...♥️
@the_eco_thought I agree, I am not privileged or elitist, I also had to work all my life and while being a student..and I keep on depending on my now post-doc post..but I believe in the power of love to deactivate capitalist cynicism..
@the_eco_thought In what sense do U mean that?cynical?self-deprecating/frustrated?ironic?I had you for a potential love-army member, not a rationalist/Marxist...😥
@the_eco_thought Taking part in a seminar, discussion, lecture..can be seen also as an instance of studying together, a collective gift.. a moment of co-constructed love...
Too many archi-schools and architects, in the grip and allure of technology, posit right answers, the answer along with new and idealised solutions. We are losing faith in our own capabilites of failure. We are no longer teaching authentic design iteration.
