𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: The third edition of *The Definitive Guide to DAX* is now available in all formats. Here’s how to choose the right digital version.

Unfortunately, early downloads of the 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 version experienced 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀.
The good news is that the code should now render correctly. The bad news is that every code snippet is an image, and you cannot copy and paste it (just on the Kindle version, not for other formats).

In general, the 𝗲𝗣𝘂𝗯 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 and includes the code as text, so copy-and-paste is possible.

However, the 𝗣𝗗𝗙 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 among digital formats and includes all illustrations in color, while the printed edition is in black & white.

If you want to get the bundle 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱+𝗲𝗣𝘂𝗯 formats (including 𝗣𝗗𝗙), you should use the 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 to complete the purchase.

If you use Amazon, you must choose between the printed version (yes, another brick for your library!) and the Kindle one, which has the limitations I exposed above.

If you already bought the Kindle version on Amazon, remember you have 7 days to request a full refund.

The DAX Package Manager (in Tabular Editor 3) is now the benchmark for future implementations of DAX Library integration in other external tools.
It's so fast that I thought it didn't work when I installed the first library.

DAX functions are now organized by "namespace" when you organize them hierarchically by categories. This is super for larger libraries like the new DaxLib.SVG by Jake Duddy.

DAX Optimizer 1.4 now analyzes row-level security filters and calculation groups, and it does more than just show you where the problems are.

With this release, you can:

- Detect performance issues caused by RLS filters

- Estimate their cost and prioritize what to fix

- Compare impact vs. existing measures in your model

We have just released DAX Optimizer 1.4!

The tool now analyzes DAX expressions in:
- Row-Level Security (RLS)
- Calculation groups
