MARCOLETA ARRESTED

JUST IN: Sen. Rodante Marcoleta has been arrested by personnel of the Philippine National Police after the Sandiganbayan Third Division issued a warrant of arrest against him and his three co-accused in connection with the plunder case filed by the Office of the Ombudsman.

He will be transferred to the Quezon City Jail in Payatas, according to Associate Justice Karl Miranda.

The case stems from allegations that Marcoleta failed to declare campaign donations received during the 2025 midterm senatorial elections.

PH EXTENDS VISA-FREE ENTRY FOR TAIWAN PASSPORT HOLDERS 🇹🇼🇵🇭

UPDATE: The Philippines has extended its 14-day visa-free entry privilege for Taiwan passport holders for another year, according to the Manila Economic and Cultural Office.

The privilege, which takes effect July 1, 2026, will remain valid until June 30, 2027.

It is non-extendible and non-convertible to other Philippine visa categories, and travelers staying longer than 14 days must obtain a visa before entry.

Taiwan has yet to announce whether it will likewise extend its visa-free entry program for Philippine passport holders. The current 14-day visa-free privilege for Filipinos remains in effect until July 31, 2026. | @TristanNodalo
