📅 On This Day: 8th June 1977.
Rangers signed 21 year old Davie Cooper from Clydebank for £100,000.
It was the first time since the transfer of Colin Stein in 1968 that Rangers had paid a 6-figure sum in fees.
Some songs seem destined to outgrow the bands that wrote them. First released in 2008, “Sweet Disposition” steadily gathered momentum through film soundtracks, television and festival appearances, turning The Temper Trap into one of the most recognisable indie acts of the era.

To pay 10 million on chermiti and sell for 20m yeah it’s a 100% return on investment and rangers make 10m profit
But surely rangers paid a much higher fee than normal to get chermiti to make more than just double there investment
That’s my take anyway
Rangers ROI (return on investment) from Bassey was 7233% a huge 21.7m profit
Igamane the ROI was 400% on what we paid making a profit of 9.2m
Aribo the ROI was pure profit as he was free sold we made 8m profit
That takes us to chermitti……
