If there’s someone important in your life who helped get you where you are try to let that person know how influential he or she has been. They will appreciate it, and you will feel great about acknowledging their impact. Condolences to his wife Susan and the Johnson family. RIP.
The most galvanizing scenario possible played out for the U.S. team. The *one guy* who is most obsessed with playing in a Ryder Cup just said, "I'm going to sit it out because I value the team more than my own desires." I don't think (?) that has always been the U.S. attitude.
Now he has a team that will literally do anything they can to get him a Cup. Big boy stuff from Keegan and an excellent outcome for the U.S.

Big East: 17-4
Big 12: 15-12
SEC: 13-13
Big Ten: 11-11
One of these is not like others.
Stop rewarding mediocrity with more bids. Reward the conference that performs on the biggest stage.
Here’s the plan: 72 teams in the NCAA field. All 32 automatic qualifiers are seeded into the field. The top 24 at-large teams are seeded into the field. Then, the remaining 16 at-large teams play in the First Eight in Dayton. Four games each day instead of two. Nothing else changes. I’m a purist, but I’m a realist.
