If someone wants to pay privately for something they are entitled to, be it a dentist, pharmacy, gp, surgery, transport, education, etc… then they are freeing up a space for someone more in need whilst still paying tax towards their entitlement (they are paying twice!).

If you can afford to pay private and free up a space then surely it should be encouraged not discouraged?

It’s the politics of envy and another case of the Liebour government cutting off its nose to spite its face.
