An inspired group of independent social care, health and housing professionals who work with organisations in the sector. Developers of the “Progression” model
Our latest thinking on the need to appreciate what our sector has done well in response to Covid-19 and use this in conversations about how we remodel the social care system to help people live better lives https://t.co/IeTtRVgMe5
This is absolutely disgraceful....someone is going to make a lot of money out of this and we are going to lose a lot...AND it closes out the option of HS2 at any point in the future...the wanton, determined damage.
Interesting study exploring how young women discussed their attitudes towards, and experiences of, intimate relationships, and using a whole community approach to prevent abuse @TeleriCeryl#WISERD2023

Asked med student what specialty he/his colleagues are thinking about..
He said they only consider 2 questions:
1) To continue in medicine or not
2) If they continue medicine, which country should they move to after training
All this skill & potential … just driven away 😞
I think this Covid wave may be more damaging than any previous wave over the last year.
Non-Covid pressures are greater
We have fewer staff
There is less NHS capacity
Vaccine uptake has plummetted
Immunity is waning
We have an impotent leadership
And a complicit media

We think we listen, but we don't, not really. Really properly listening in healthcare, can you imagine it? I dont mean those formal listening events. I mean in our normal day to day conversations- taking the time to really listen, as standard. It'd be radical, & counter-cultural.
What if we were to gather together in a space, & share how we are really feeling, what we are thinking. And feel listened to, & heard?
Some reflections on #SpacesForListening by @brigidrussell51 & me.
Please let us know what you think. Thank you.

@lockwood_sian So sorry to hear this Sian. It must have been difficult to write as well as awful to have your daughter go through this. I hope she gets access to the treatment she needs
My uncle P. has moved into a care home. I phoned to arrange to see him on Saturday. They said 'no visiting at weekends'. I said I'm coming anyway. The Manager phoned me back and said they'd changed their policy to 7 days a week visiting. DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!
