Big surprise today. The expanded page. Not a beautiful sight.
Images and texts under the loupe (who said I wanted it?). Hard to navigate. Many strokes the screen of my iPad to get a few lines down.
Either make the old compact format optional, please, or install an E-Paper (like the wonderful one in the Boston Globe). @nytimes@bostonglobe
Good article today in the New York Times. I hope the immigration problem of Dr. Bolivar’s family is solved. I hope she is addressed in her corrected future as Dr. *Bolívar*.
In fact, unlike diacritical accents respected by journalists in names and surnames of people originally existing with accents in other European languages, the Spanish ones are omitted today: *Bolívar, Faría, Véliz*.
Instead, Bolivar, Faria, Veliz reigned unopposed.
Hopefully this trend is reversed in future articles in the New York Times. Not the first time I see the fault.
I kind of understand. I am the first offender. I sign Gonzalez, instead of González. Not to throw PCs o email addresses into crazy gibberish or in professional matters I yielded! ( I am a Venezuelan-born pathologist who signs Aldo Gonzalez-Serva, MD).
I even do not demand that my native son uses González instead of Gonzalez, as he does. I guess that’s the price of assimilation.
A proviso: At matters of the heart and of communication with Spanish-speaking people and family and friends, though, I am Aldo González-Serva.

@DJTrumpLibrary The replicas of the Rose Garden and the Oval Office remind me of the same replicas in George W. Bush Presidential Library that I visited in Dallas last January. Which will be the differences?
I assume the “vessels” will be the same, but not so the contents.
Time capsules of garden and office, using the same spaces, but different objects that defined the time of each president.
A trend seems to be established. Like a ‘photo album’ but a 3-D diorama that can be trespassed, so to speak, by the public. Unlike museum dioramas.

Re: FilmBox
March 23, 2026
I want to scan color Kodachrome slides with FilmBox to permit me to shoot from the 20-slide plastic sheets directly. As if they were negatives. However, there is no way to get them as positives.
The opportunity of having the color slides within a 20-slide plastic protector is an enhancer of speed of scanning.
Is there a way to respect the color of those slides reverting from negatives to positives?
Thanks,
Aldo, MD…
A guy needing furiously fast scanning of hundreds of educational kodachromes.
How about Photomyne to scan the back of rows of books in family libraries and extract title and author? To be completed by AI in the form of a library card? The later could be saved in Excel, Access or in a bibliographic application, e.g., EndNote. At last, a library catalog done more easily. @EndNoteNews
@AuctionSniper Hi, Can I suggest searching eBay by seller as well? That may allow batch-purchasing from the same dealer and, therefore, it will definitely facilitate combined shipping cost. A win-win situation.
@Uber Why don’t you sell bagagge pre-dispatch one day before the flight, in a locker or spot within the city, to have an easier air travel next day? Particularly to service the elder with heavy suitcases.
When I inserted the same vertical panoramic selfie standing up, as should be seen, X does not present it whole but forcibly cropped.
To solve orientation, just turn the phone sideways when the whole selfie, as my first image, is seen.
@Walgreens I want to print my invention and cannot: The vertical panoramic selfie.
Please adapt your printing service for panoramic photos as landscape posters.

That image of Simon Bolivar was concocted by the current government of Venezuela. It is not based on the historical iconography of the Hero. It intends to give Bolivar an accentuated Latino look, more to the taste of the Chávez-Maduro regimes. Your designer should have been better informed. The image to use should have been more ecumenical and not the slanted one you published in your poster.
