The B-52 Stratofortress is the only large bomber in the world that can DRIFT.

Not metaphorically. Literally.

Its main landing gear swivels up to 20 degrees left or right. This lets the plane keep its nose pointed into a strong crosswind while the wheels stay perfectly aligned with the runway.
Most aircraft have to kick the rudder and drop a wing at the last second to straighten out. The B-52 cannot do that. Its 185 foot wings droop so low that a wing low landing risks scraping a tip or outrigger wheel. So Boeing gave it steerable bogies instead.

The result looks wild. An eight engine bomber touches down still crabbed sideways and rolls out while the fuselage points off center. From the side it looks like the plane is skidding. In reality the gear is tracking perfectly straight.
It can handle crosswinds well over 40 knots conditions that would ground many other heavy aircraft. Pilots call it the crabwalk.

It is pure 1950s engineering that still works in 2026 and no other heavy bomber does it quite like this.

Roland G. Fryer jest rzadkim przykładem czarnego profesora topowego uniwerku, który dostał się na uczelnię nie za kolor skóry, ale za pracę naukową. Nie był oszustem, nie był plagiatorem, nie był obłąkanym mitomanem. Jego problem polegał na tym, że zrobił badania i uzyskał wyniki, które nie spodobały się władzom na uniwersytecie ani lewicowym aktywistom kontrolującym kampus. Mówimy tutaj o Uniwersytecie Harvarda.

"Jeden z kolegów wziął mnie na stronę i powiedział, żebym tego nie publikował, bo zrujnuję swoją karierę. Nie posłuchałem go i opublikowałem, i potem przez miesiąc pod moim domem stała policja, a na zakupy chodziłem z uzbrojoną ochroną. Groźby śmierci wysyłane przez lewicowych fanatyków to jedno. Drugą kwestią jest reakcja władz uczelni. Krótko po publikacji artykułu pojawiły się zarzuty, że Fryer flirtuje z pracownicami w swoim laboratorium EdLabs. Wytknięto mu "niepożądane zachowania o charakterze seksualnym" (głównie werbalne, w tym żarty). Harvard zawiesiła go na dwa lata bez wynagrodzenia, zamknął laboratorium i nałożył ograniczenia. Fryer przeprosił za nieodpowiednie żarty, zaprzeczył jednak zarzutom o molestowanie.

Nie napisałem jeszcze, co takiego odkrył Fryer, że rozwścieczył lewicowych cerberów politycznej poprawności. Otóż odkrył, że amerykańska policja wcale nie strzela i nie zabija czarnych częściej niż białych i że użycie broni przez policje warunkowane jest zachowaniem podejrzanego.

Tak, dobrze przeczytaliście. Tyle wystarczy, aby na Harvardzie chcieli cię zabić.

Путин подписал указ о безопасности объектов критической инфраструктуры.
Согласно указу, если владельцы такого объекта не обеспечили его защиту, например, от ударов БПЛА, объект переходит государству во "временное" управление.

Экс-участница Pussy Riot Рита Флорес заявила, что была завербована ФСБ и что ее пытались привлечь к покушению на Петра Верзилова

Бывшая участница группы Pussy Riot Рита Флорес (Маргарита Коновалова) рассказала, что с 2023 года сотрудничала с ФСБ под оперативным псевдонимом «Харлей» — помогала спецслужбе собирать информацию на художников, политактивистов и других участниц Pussy Riot. Об этом она заявила в интервью изданию Port.

По словам Флорес, к сотрудничеству ее принудили после обыска в квартире 17 февраля 2023 года. Активистка рассказала, что тогда она осталась дома с двумя сотрудниками ФСБ, которые угрожали ей уголовным преследованием, убийством родственников и тем, что она сама «бесследно пропадет». В ФСБ ей дали псевдоним «Харлей», начали тренировать «как агента», забрали документы и выдали «рабочий» телефон.

В задачи Флорес входило сообщать о художественных произведениях, которые могли бы лечь в основу «разработки», а также составлять «доклады» на будущих фигурантов — с описанием привычек, уязвимых мест и окружения.

«Ну то есть если я вижу дерьмовый [по мнению ФСБ] арт, на котором есть оскорбление Родины, то должна позвонить и сказать “посадить!” — и мы начинаем по нему работать», — рассказала она

Флорес утверждает, что участвовала в «разработке» уличного художника Филиппа Козлова (Philippenzo), акциониста Павла Крисевича и другой участницы Pussy Riot Марии Алехиной. Также ФСБ пыталась привлечь ее к похищению и убийству бывшего издателя «Медиазоны» и участника Pussy Riot Петра Верзилова.

Получив задание на Верзилова, Флорес связалась с адвокатом Захватовым. С его помощью она убедила кураторов «отсрочить» выполнение, а затем сбежала из страны. Как именно, они не раскрыли. По словам Захватова, Флорес вывезли около 10 дней назад.

Активистка заявила, что решила рассказать о сотрудничестве с ФСБ, чтобы помочь другим людям в похожей ситуации. В своем инстаграме она поблагодарила Захватова и бывшего топ-менеджера ЮКОСа Леонида Невзлина, которые «спасли ее задницу и душу».

Here is one of the craziest true stories of the whole war, and it happened on the very last day of it, April 29, 1975, as Saigon was falling.

A South Vietnamese Air Force major named Buang-Ly knew the North Vietnamese were about to overrun everything, and he was not going to leave his family behind to whatever came next. So he did something desperate. He found a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog, a tiny, unarmed, two seat propeller observation plane, the kind used to spot targets, and he crammed his wife and their five children into it. Seven people in an aircraft built for two. Then he took off from Con Son Island, under fire from the ground, in a little plane with barely enough room to breathe, and flew out over the open sea with no real plan except to find the Americans.

Somehow he found them. Out in the South China Sea he spotted the aircraft carrier USS Midway, its deck jammed with helicopters flying refugees out of the collapse. But Buang-Ly had no working radio to ask for help, and his Bird Dog had no tailhook, the device planes use to catch the wire and stop on a carrier. He circled and made passes over the deck. He tried dropping notes, which blew away. Finally he wrote one more, weighted it down, and dropped it, and this one landed on the deck. In shaky English it asked them to move the helicopters so he could land, said he could fly one more hour, and ended, please rescue me, Major Buang, wife and five child.

The Midway's captain, Larry Chambers, had a decision to make in minutes, and no time to ask permission. To give this man a clear deck to land a plane with no tailhook, he would have to clear the helicopters off, and there was no room to park them. So Chambers gave the order to push them into the ocean. Millions of dollars worth of UH-1 Hueys, shoved off the side of his own ship into the sea, on his own authority, knowing it could end his career. He turned the carrier into the wind, called for volunteers, and cleared the deck.

Then Major Buang-Ly brought that little Bird Dog down onto the flight deck of a United States aircraft carrier, no tailhook, seven souls aboard, and greased it, a beautiful landing in a tiny distance while the deck crew held their breath. When he rolled to a stop, the sailors erupted, cheering and crying. His whole family walked off that plane alive.

Captain Chambers was not court martialed. He went on to become a rear admiral. And Major Buang-Ly's little Bird Dog, the two seat spotter plane that carried a family of seven off the end of a war and landed on a carrier, hangs today in the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, one of the most improbable survivors of the fall of Saigon.

Exactly three years ago, on August 20, 2023, Russian security forces stormed the home of Yana Suvorova in occupied Melitopol and took her away. She was just 18 years old.

Her “crime”? Yana refused to accept the Russian occupation of her hometown. She helped run the Telegram community “Melitopol Is Ukraine,” where Ukrainians could share information about life under occupation and where one simple truth continued to be spoken: MELITOPOL IS UKRAINE. 🇺🇦

For that, Russia turned an 18-year-old Ukrainian girl into a supposed “spy” and “terrorist.” Russian authorities accused her of collecting information about Russian forces that allegedly contributed to strikes against FSB and Rosgvardia facilities.

After her detention, pro-Ukrainian Telegram resources in Melitopol were hacked and taken over. Yana disappeared into Russia’s prison system.

On October 23, 2025, a Russian military court sentenced her to FOURTEEN YEARS in a penal colony on charges including “espionage,” involvement in a “terrorist community,” and “terrorism.”

FOURTEEN YEARS. For a young Ukrainian woman seized at 18 years old in her own occupied city.

Today Yana is being held in Detention Center No. 2 in Taganrog. She is now 21.

Think about that. At an age when young people should be studying, falling in love, traveling, building careers and dreaming about their futures, Yana has spent THREE YEARS behind Russian bars.

Three birthdays stolen. Three years stolen. Three years of youth that Russia can never give back.

Today, exactly three years after she was taken from her home, we must make sure her name is not forgotten.

HER NAME IS YANA SUVOROVA.

Say her name. Share her photograph. Tell her story. Remind the world that behind the statistics about Ukrainians held by Russia are REAL HUMAN BEINGS — with parents, friends, dreams and lives waiting for them at home.

Arseny Turbin turns eighteen today. He’s spending it in a remand prison in Perm.

He was just fifteen when he was detained for handing out leaflets criticising Vladimir Putin, and was later sentenced to five years in a juvenile penal colony.

Arseny grew up in Livny, Oryol Oblast, and studied at the Bulgakov Lyceum, where he was a regular prize-winner in school competitions and olympiads. Physics was his first love — he’d been teaching himself the subject since primary school — before maths and economics caught his interest too.

His mother, Irina, remembers him as a ‘truth-teller’: a boy who couldn’t stay silent in the face of injustice.

Arseny never hid his politics. At just thirteen, he got through to the independent broadcaster TV Rain to talk about corruption and failings in the education system. A friend filmed the call and posted it online, but pressure from the school on his parents forced them to take it down. On his own channel, Arseny kept posting videos criticising Putin and the war.

On 29 August 2023, security forces raided the flat where Arseny lived with his mother, grandmother and grandfather, seizing his tablet, laptop and phones. He was detained on 5 September, and by 20 November his name had been added to Russia’s official list of ‘terrorists and extremists’.

Investigators allege that opposition media radicalised him, that he applied to join the Freedom of Russia Legion through a Telegram bot, and that — as a supposed member of this ‘terrorist organisation’ — he put leaflets reading ‘Do you need a president like this?’ through his neighbours’ letterboxes in June and July 2023.

The pressure has only grown in custody. He was deliberately placed in a cell with an inmate who beat and threatened him, and has repeatedly been thrown into a punishment cell. In February, a new charge followed — ‘participation in mass riots’ — built on testimony from ‘a wide circle of people’, his relatives say. What he’s actually accused of remains unclear. He has since been moved from the colony to a remand prison.

He should be celebrating with friends today. Instead, he’s spending his 18th birthday behind bars.

Adults in uniform have punished a schoolboy for refusing to stay silent, taking from him one of the most formative chapters of growing up. No exam results, no graduation with his mates. Instead: a fabricated new case, and a remand prison in Perm. Russia’s authorities are afraid of exactly what Arseny Turbin represents: a future their past can’t survive.

Write Arseny a letter. Let him know he hasn’t been forgotten:

Давайте не будем кидаться обсуждать его высказывания про Украину и спрашивать, почему он не уехал. Лучше послушаем его крутую речь 2017 года о "патриотическом воспитании" в школах.

Если суммировать все 30+ лет правозащитной и политической карьеры Льва Шлосберга, то в целом она почти безупречна. Такой человек должен был быть минимум федеральным парламентарием, а максимум — возглавлять большую демократическую партию. В итоге он будет мотать больше 10 лет в лагерях. Если, конечно, Путин и его режим столько протянут.
