Half a million of those reached by @CARE in #Afghanistan are women. This decision does not only limit the right to #employment for women aid workers, it limits assistance to women.
#Afghanistan: CARE is deeply concerned by the announcement that Afghan women are prohibited from working for NGOs. W/o women aid workers, NGOs may not be able to reach women, girls, & families, cutting access to aid for half of a population already suffering from a hunger crisis.
1 of 2: "This decision is not about #humanitarian group, @CARE or NGOs, it is about the millions of #Afghans who are in need of assistance, the women & girls who urgently need help"
Great talking to @LailaHarrak on #Afghanistan@CNN
"The situation is urgent,it is a critical #humanitarian crisis. Please give us the ability to deliver to our mandate which is providing #humanitarian services with independence, with impartiality, with neutrality"

Women banned from working in national & international civil society organisations.
A chilling decision of unprecedented impact. The Taliban's latest ban on women's right to work is a breach of humanitarian principles and condemns Afghans to further and deepening crisis.

- have centrality of protection mainstreamed across the next #GRF
- set up stronger and more robust monitoring systems and indicators?
Let’s see what next year’s #GRF brings @UNHCRAsia
