@MadsDavies And it's off-putting to be told about:
expectations around growth that will be placed on the new priest (as if that will not be shared)
a culture of hard work and busyness within the team (as if that will be coerced)
that everything is significant, impressive or perfect already
@MadsDavies It's helpful to see real and honest clarity in the publically available profile about:
Church finances
Church building conditions, and works needed
Governance
Who can be contacted for an open conversation
Housing
Pay and conditions (especially for non parochial posts)
@OSacrumCorIesu@MadsDavies I was having a conversation today about our hope to recruit a children's worker (grant funded) here, and that it's precisely because we don't have high regular attendance from children and young families or a large team of volunteers, that we need to employ in this sort of role.
@OSacrumCorIesu@MadsDavies Is there any chance you might be able to access the apprentiship scheme that's running in London and Southwark?

We are deeply saddened by the stabbing of two members of the Jewish community in Golders Green. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbours and reject all forms of hatred and violence.
@MadsDavies@RevLauraBH Without a power of enforcement, the CofE's ability to close churchyards isn't a real benefit and it isn't a good safeguard of these important public spaces and their condition.
@MadsDavies@RevLauraBH As for closed churchyards, I'm afraid that councils don't maintain them well and there's no enforcement mechanism on their duties. That's for lots of reasons, including sensible priorities in council budgets.
@TheOutsider40@dioceseoflondon I'm very glad you were in Golders Green, Bishop Anderson, in solidarity with our friends in the Jewish community.
Perhaps we can explore how we can do some more inter-faith work across the diocesan border with @diostalbans too, where communities aren't divided by such attacks.
St Mary's is advertising for a new director of music and a children's worker.
If you know anyone who might be suitable, and you think they are foolish enough to want to work with me, then please pass on the news about these excellent posts.
