14.2 I believe that platforms like YouTube will gain popular and/or emerge. Most young people do not watch cable and consumer most of their content on YouTube and streaming services, so I think this will continue for a very long time #GNED1411

@NIkitaLakhani5 I am in the advertising program and I also use YouTube to look up tutorials on how to do certain things on Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign

@sammacfar I always forget about LinkedIn because it is a professional platform. I guess I have used it for the courses they have for some of my marketing classes.

13.3 I think social media can be beneficial and distracting in a classroom. I think it engages students because it is social media, however, if a student wanders on the site that is when it comes distracting. #GNED1411

13.2 I think another way social media can be used in the classroom is LinkedIn learning. There are mini-courses that students can take, which helps the learning process. #GNED1411

@osnapitshollyyy I think the same thing. Social media is giving everyone a tool to voice their opinions and beliefs when it comes to advocating and I believe that is a very strong thing.

@SahilPa79748506 I agree with this. I feel like a lot of conversations start with "did you see this trend", "did you see that hashtag", it gets the conversation started when a large number of people see it.

12.3 I think digital activism/advocacy supported by social media can make a huge impact on society. There are so many campaigns that start off with a small hashtag but gains a following because of the mass population of social media #GNED1411

12.2 One that comes to mind is #BellLetsTalk which happens every year in Canada. They use social media to help spread awareness and raise money for mental health.
