I don't necessarily believe that Carlos Mendoza is the root of the mets issues, but i do think he is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Carlos Mendoza is the product of a mets team that doesn't exist anymore. the "new group" is not Mendoza's group
Mets should sign Walker to a minors deal.
- Proved he can pitch in NY
- Plays in a juicebox of a stadium so his numbers will obviously be inflated
- Road numbers were better than home last year
- Is better than Senga and Peterson
Be the Mets:
- Dismantle the core and say goodbye to franchise faces
- Bring in lesser/cheaper options
- Rage sign a guy who only hits singles for $50M a year
- Trade for a good SP who will probably leave anyways
- Sell at the deadline
- Launch into deep rebuild
I'm sorry but if you are the second richest teach in baseball behind the Dodgers and the positive news is supposed to be "Marcus Semien almost hit a home run!" you need to do some thinking.
Nobody likes to lose but I saw some β green shoots tonight β. On offense, Lindor had two hits including a home run. Bichette got a double hitting it to left field as opposed to recently being right field prone. Benge got a solid hit. Soto started his running progression today. Semien hit a shot that might have been a home run on a warmer night. Finally, Nolan McLean pitched an outstanding game going 7 innings. Hang in there fans, we will turn this around !
Some shots from April 2009 at the brand new Citi Field. Look how small that scoreboard looked back then! Great shots of Daniel Murphy and Jose Reyes. Two of my favorites from section 112.
4/13/2021 The Mets beat the Phillies in eight innings in Game 1 of a doubleheader. After Pete Alonso ties the game with an RBI single, Jonathan Villar drives home the winning run with a walk-off knock as New York wins 4-3.
