It's been my absolute privilege to work with such wonderful clever people for the past couple of years. I fully intend to keep on pestering them about both books and borrowing at every available opportunity.
It's alive! Our Chambers' Circulating Library map is now available! @aledatde explains how it was created with thanks to our partners @natlibscot https://t.co/qqgKvX9c8U #NewBooksfortheNewTown
Do we really know what the most popular books were for past readers and/or why they were read? @MJRSangster tracks Henry Brooke's 'The Fool of Quality' across our libraries with the data we've collected so far: https://t.co/CtfwA43uXV
If you attended our @Innerpeffray Library Lives event with @books_borrowing this afternoon, please fill out this quick evaluation and let us know what you thought and if you learned anything! It really helps us out for future events. https://t.co/VsreOIS96x
Definitely makes me think about all of the things that had nothing to do with what people actually wanted to read, but had a massive influence on their borrowing patterns
@bibliophisla@aledatde@Innerpeffray@books_borrowing I also didn't know this happened anywhere but Leadhill's, but as a reader I would have found this INFURIATING. I'd also love to know how easy it is to track when trying to interpret the borrowers' records.
Fascinating to hear about rotas of borrowing at Westerkirk Library by @aledatde at our Library Lives event today with @Innerpeffray and @books_borrowing. A brilliant way to make sure that each miner had a fair chance to borrow the popular books!
