What the Night Sky on Mars may look like.

The clearest sky any human has never stood under.

Mars' atmosphere is barely 1% as thick as Earth's. So the stars don't twinkle. They just sit there, sharp and steady, burning cold and clear.

No cities. No streetlights. No glow on the horizon. On a clear night, your eye could catch stars down to magnitude 6.6 — as deep as the human eye can physically go, something almost nobody on Earth ever gets to experience through all our light pollution.

And then there's the gut-punch.

Off in the dark, you'd spot a single pale blue dot low on the horizon. A "morning star" like Venus is to us — except this one is Earth. Home. Everyone you've ever known, glowing faintly in someone else's night sky.

The only catch is the dust. Fine and rust-colored, it tints the sky pink at sunset and dims the stars near the horizon like a low fog rolling in.

Dia beli kopi di sebuah coffee shop.
Bayar pakai QRIS, notifikasi berhasil, semua normal.

Tiba-tiba kasirnya manggil dengan suara keras banget sampai semua orang di kafe nengok.

"Belum bayar ya kak?"

Di depan semua orang.
Di depan antrian yang mau pesan juga.

Dia cek lagi transaksinya.
Sudah berhasil.
Jelas di layar.

Tapi si kasir masih pencet-pencet mesin sambil bilang belum masuk.
Lalu minta dia bayar lagi pakai cash, dan kasih nomor WhatsApp, nanti kalau uangnya masuk bakal ditransfer balik.

Daripada ribut dan dia lagi buru-buru, dia turuti saja.

Lima menit setelah keluar dari kafe, kasirnya WhatsApp.
Uangnya sudah masuk.

Dia balas dengan sopan tapi tegas.
Minta lain kali kalau mau konfirmasi pembayaran jangan diteriakkan di depan pelanggan lain.
Kasirnya cuma jawab maaf.

Dia DM Instagram coffee shop itu.
Tidak dibalas lebih dari 24 jam, bahkan tidak dibaca.

Akhirnya dia review di Google Maps.

Setelah review itu tayang, ownernya baru merespons. Minta maaf.
Bilang kasirnya sudah ditegur. Uang yang dobel bayar dikembalikan.

Case closed.

Guys, kadang bukan soal uangnya.
Sepuluh ribu atau lima puluh ribu bisa diselesaikan dalam hitungan menit.
Yang tidak bisa cepat pulih itu perasaan malu yang ditimbulkan di depan orang banyak tanpa alasan yang jelas.
