This is the standard protocol we have followed for school closures. We try to keep families And the school community informed, as best as we can

While I am very sorry to hear that the parent did not receive this information, but for the sake of clarity: on April 14th, prior to the Board meeting where the closure of School 20 was discussed for the 1st time, a Robocall was sent to parents, to inform them of this potential

Additionally, after the Board adopted the budget on May 7th, A second Robo call was sent to parents on May 8th to inform them that the board approved the school closure. A letter also went out to all parents and the letter was posted on the school website

A correction to this ...it was actually @NYSEDNews working in collaboration with @RCSDNYS to restructure the use of our federal and state grants to better support our students that allowed this funding to reduce our teacher reductions
