“A 16-year-old pushed back against Disney! I wanted Miley to go to college, to show that fame isn’t everything, but Disney wanted to make it all a dream where Miley Cyrus wakes up and realizes the entire show was a dream. We even filmed that version with her real parents. The person who had the ultimate choice was Miley. Miley said, ‘If Michael wants it that way, I support Michael,’ and Disney changed it. She was 16... Most stars wouldn’t do that at 16, but she did”
