@fearoftigers haha oh wow. thank you for being honest - and i probably was and/or still have my setbacks. but that didn't hold me back from running the blog when i was really excited about it. (and i doubt you really forgot who told you. but up to you.)

@fearoftigers this is just a random (friday night alc fueled) rant though, a decade too late. it's all good. but i didn't want to be a part of that any more and at some point i just wasn't excited about the music any more. and i never felt like selling out either.

@fearoftigers and while i had huge visitor numbers and reach at some point, it just made me feel like an industry tool eventually, caught up in the whole promo game. i was always striving to be #1 and thought of the blog thing as a competition but that wasn't really what i wanted.

@fearoftigers and at the same time i have to admit i grew tired of being like a 'free a&r' for a lot of different labels. getting money was never a goal when i started the blog but at some point it just felt weird when so many talents i discovered where signed and i never got shit for it.

@PhilipSherburne great piece. as far as your last paragraph goes: in the long run proper archiving is up to private persons (DJs or not), random youtube uploaders, (russian) torrent sites and the warez scene. the industry can't be bothered, whether it's majors or indies.
