On the margins of the #Delphi Economic Forum, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Business and Philanthropy of the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Badr Jafar @uaesebp. 🇦🇱🇦🇪

Our discussion focused on the growing economic opportunities between our two countries, with particular emphasis on strengthening trade relations and expanding areas of cooperation.

While our countries have already built a solid relationship and a sustainable framework of cooperation, I encouraged greater engagement from the #UAE’s private sector in key sectors such as energy, tourism, innovation, and hospitality, among others.

In this context, the prospect of opening a UAE #Embassy in Tirana represents an important and welcome step forward. It reflects the strength and quality of our partnership and paves the way for even deeper and more dynamic collaboration in the years ahead.

Meeting university students in #Korça was a great experience.

Meeting students from the “Themistokli Gërmenji” and “Raqi Qirinxhi” high schools was absolutely inspiring.

One message stands out clearly: our #European future will not simply be negotiated — it is being built by our youth. 🇦🇱🇪🇺

It is taking shape in classrooms, through daily effort, in the curiosity to learn more, the courage to ask difficult questions, and the willingness to get involved.

For us, #Europe does not begin the day #Albania joins.

📍 Tirana to Host the Corridor VIII Ministerial

🗓 On 18 February 2026, Tirana will become the center of regional dialogue reaffirming the strategic importance of one of the region’s key infrastructure and geopolitical projects — Corridor VIII.

The Corridor VIII Ministerial Session will take place at the Palace of Brigades, with delegations from 🇦🇱 Albania, 🇲🇰 North Macedonia, 🇧🇬 Bulgaria, 🇮�� Italy, and 🇷🇴 Romania, as well as representatives from partner countries.

🗣 Plenary theme:
“Corridor VIII at Europe’s Strategic Moment: Connectivity, Resilience through Military Mobility, and Shared Prosperity through Integration.”

🤝 The Ministerial is expected to adopt a Joint Declaration and will include bilateral meetings and a press conference.

💼 A side event, the Corridor VIII Economic Forum, will be held at the Bank of Albania (Building No. 2) under the theme:
“From Strategic Connectivity to Regional Economic Growth: The Economic Potential of Corridor VIII.”
The Forum will bring together public authorities, European institutions, international financial institutions, and economic stakeholders to promote investment, trade, and regional competitiveness.

In Washington, I held an in-depth meeting with the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, @UnderSecStateP , who oversees America’s political relations with allies around the world.
We discussed issues of direct importance to Albania: security within the NATO framework, stability in the Western Balkans, and practical steps to deepen the economic and strategic partnership between our two countries—so that Albania’s voice is heard where key decisions are made.
Today, Albania is recognized as a reliable ally, standing shoulder to shoulder with its partners and making a meaningful contribution to the region’s security and stability.
