Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs proudly serving @POTUS and the American people.

Singapore is a key strategic partner for the United States in the Indo-Pacific, and my insightful discussion with Singapore’s Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Albert Chua underscored this point. We discussed advancing our technology security, civil nuclear energy, and Singapore’s vision for its ASEAN chair year in 2027.

Relations between the U.S. and Iceland are stronger than ever.  I sat down with Foreign Minister @thorgkatrin to explore avenues to deepen our bilateral cooperation, including via increased investment in our shared Arctic security and potential opportunities for broader defense and security-related cooperation.

It was my pleasure to host embassy leaders from the GCC countries and Jordan for another frank discussion on regional security.  Our close cooperation is critical to Operation Economic Outcast, as we work together to cut Iran and its proxies off from the last remaining lifelines to the global economy.

The ICC was meant to be a court of last resort.  At the @BledStratForum, I highlighted how the ICC’s expansion beyond its mandate undermines states' sovereignty. @SecRubio is leading the charge to dismantle the ICC and end the threat it poses to the United States and our partners.

[Allison M. Hooker @UnderSecStateP]

Earlier today at the @BledStratForum, I spoke about the future of the U.S.-Europe relationship and what we need from Europe as a strategic partner.  As @SecRubio emphasized in Munich, our shared history, heritage, and values remain our foundation.  To strengthen that partnership, we should focus on secure borders, sound migration policy, political liberty, and reforming or eliminating multilateral institutions that no longer serve their purpose.

America's ambassadors and embassies turn U.S. policy into action around the world. This week, I am proud to join Ambassador Roberts in Slovenia, where she and her team are advancing American interests every day. @usembljubljana

[Allison M. Hooker @UnderSecStateP]

It was great to see Foreign Minister @TKajzer again and meet with leaders at the @BledStratForum. Slovenia and many of our partners here are answering @SecRubio's call to put sovereignty at the heart of foreign policy - through common-sense migration policies, realistic defense spending, and stronger economic security, including by expanding access to reliable U.S. LNG and civil nuclear technology.

[US Embassy Ljubljana @usembljubljana]

Welcome to Slovenia! Ahead of the @BledStratForum, Under Secretary Hooker met with Slovenia’s Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer, Slovenian Ambassador to the U.S. Iztok Mirošič, and Coordinator for Energy Ambassador Robert Krmelj to discuss defense commitments, energy security, economic resilience, and ways to further strengthen the partnership between the United States and Slovenia.

The United States stands with the people of Nepal during this difficult time and will continue to support relief and recovery efforts.

Last week, I welcomed National Security Adviser Ribadu to Washington, D.C. for the second U.S.–Nigeria Joint Working Group. The United States remains steadfastly committed to safeguarding Christian communities. Throughout our discussions, we identified concrete steps to protect Christians facing violence in Nigeria, which we expect to see continued progress on. The United States will hold all countries accountable for ensuring that Christians can live out their faith free of threat or persecution. Learn more: https://t.co/Jss9Ur3HVP

Headed back to Washington after a brief but very productive visit to Seoul. Our initial discussions on U.S.-ROK nuclear cooperation were a success and set the stage for continued technical conversations.  As we open new areas of cooperation, we continue to push for progress on existing economic and security related issues.

In my meetings with ROK officials, we underscored the need to remain in lock step as we navigate shifting global dynamics and challenges, from ensuring the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to strengthening critical supply chains and countering regional threats.

We’ve set ambitious goals, but our alliance is up to the task!
