Sabemos lo que duele despedir a un Capitán, pero los verdaderos nunca se van del todo.

As a Cristiano Ronaldo fan, it's difficult to defend him right now.

Ronaldo is 41. He can't expect the national team manager to treat him like he's still in his prime at the expense of younger players who can offer more intensity and energy.

I've said this before: Ronaldo should have retired from international football after the World Cup.

He would have bowed out as a legend, and nothing he does now can add much to the legacy he's already built.

Getting angry about not being involved in the later stages of the Norway game comes across as selfish and entitled.

Being Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't automatically guarantee you minutes.

In his prime, he played so much because he was one of the most efficient players in the world. But he's now well past his prime, and he has to accept that the manager may sometimes believe younger players can contribute more.

That's football.

Ronaldo can continue playing club football for as long as he wants. Nobody would have much to say about it.

But international football is different.

At some point, you have to allow the next generation to carry the responsibility of representing Portugal.

Ronaldo has already given Portugal everything. Maybe it's time to let the younger generation carry the torch.

Guess who will get the blame if Portugal loses to Spain:

1. Messi
2. FIFA
3. The referee
4. Teammates who didn't pass to Ronaldo
5. All of the above

After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on.

I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships.

I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days.
Catalonia is my place on earth.

Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.
A special thank you to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career.

Barça is back where it belongs.
Visca el Barça. Visca Catalunya 💙❤️
