At 3:02 a.m., Dallas Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Dallas Gentlemen’s Night Club, located at 2117 W. Northwest Hwy., in Northwest Dallas. Firefighters arrived at the large one-story commercial building to find heavy smoke coming from the building. Firefighters deployed hand lines to initiate an offensive attack, but it was quickly revealed that fire was hidden within a number of void spaces, and was already in its advanced stages. As a result, a second-alarm was transmitted and the fire was fought defensively.
The fire left behind significant damage, as flames came through the roof line across the entire building. Thankfully, there was no one was reported inside the club when the fire began, and there have been no injuries reported. Though the fire has been mostly contained, firefighters are still knocking down hot spots until the fire is completely extinguished.

BREAKING: “I’ve witnessed, I believe, 5 executions in Tennessee. Nothing about today was normal, typical at all.”
Shocking new details emerge from the failed attempt to execute Christa Pike, the 50-year-old inmate who has spent nearly 30 years on Tennessee’s death row.
At a news conference following the attempted execution, media witnesses are now revealing more about what Pike was saying and what they heard as the process unfolded.
“The vein in my arm feels like it’s about to burst open,” Pike told her spiritual adviser during the process.
Officials administered two syringes of pentobarbital, but Pike still had a heartbeat and was snoring after receiving the drugs, according to an emergency court filing from her attorneys. One witness described the sound as if Pike was “almost choking.”
“She was clearly still alive. She was clearly still breathing.”
The curtains inside the execution chamber went down twice as the process unfolded, and Tennessee officials ultimately were unable to complete the execution.
Pike was sentenced to death in 1996 for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. She was 18 at the time of the killing.
🚨 BREAKING: TENNESSEE HALTS EXECUTIONS FOR THE REST OF 2026 AFTER CHRISTA PIKE SURVIVES EXECUTION ATTEMPT
Gov. Bill Lee has now paused all remaining executions this year and ordered a comprehensive third-party review after Christa Pike survived two doses of pentobarbital.
That means Gary Wayne Sutton’s Dec. 3 execution will not go forward this year.
This went from one execution to a statewide crisis in Tennessee’s death penalty system overnight.

BREAKING: Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike is still alive after 2 lethal injections, according to her lawyer.
At 8:26 p.m. local time, witnesses said executioners had "injected both syringes of lethal injection chemicals and Pike is still alive and snoring," her lawyers said.
Authorities appeared to give Pike two doses of pentobarbital, but she was still alive more than 40 minutes after the last dose. Officials then escorted media witnesses out of the area, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections said it was unable to immediately provide information about what happened.
The attempted execution comes after the Supreme Court vacated a last-minute stay that had temporarily spared Pike from becoming the first woman executed in Tennessee since the early 1800s.
