@markloprototype @JesNx It does have some to do with that… I realize it wasn’t intended to speak to that subject. I brought it up because when you’re desperately trying day in and day out to get work, it can get emotional and your judgment can get impaired. Not saying they’re right. It’s just sad.

@JesNx @markloprototype I think what you did of posting what is and is not knowledgeable of a culture is great. It’s educational, it clear, it’s a tool to hold people accountable. At the time I commented, that wasn’t up yet.

I have no doubt you mean well and your discernment is right, but putting up a little extra effort to be kind is worthwhile

@markloprototype @JesNx There is a difference between someone who tries to force their way into someplace they shouldn’t be, and someone who is trying and makes a slightly off judgement call. I’m bothered by the fact that no one is recognizing that distinction or the struggles of chronic joblessness.

@JesNx @markloprototype I’m not trying to downplay. But many good applicants do struggle with feeling not good enough for roles generally, some of the discourse surrounding this incident veering into “don’t apply if you don’t exactly meet requirements,” when it should be, “don’t be racist.”
