Last week, some of the men in 2nd Phase went to La Grange, Texas to do a rebuild with @SamaritansPurse, while the others went to Skiatook, Oklahoma for disaster relief.
Here’s an article about our Men in Blue working in La Grange!

Before most of the men currently in training were born, 25 men set off to the Northwoods to go through a Basic Training that would lead to 26 years of forging men.

Our thanks to the @ALERTAcademy teams who have volunteered with @SamaritansPurse disaster relief this year in Panama City, FL, and now Pearland, TX! They’re helping repair hurricane-damaged homes for families. Great job!
Here's a picture to give you a little bit of perspective. If you thought it was cold here at ALERT last week, here's a throwback to Basic Training Unit 3 hiking while it's snowing.

One of our Alumni, Andrew Wuerffel from Unit 53, shared with Basic Training about throwing away sinful weight. Andrew now works as a youth pastor in Kansas.
Unit 62 had their River Crossing Competition, where the squads raced to be the fastest across the water!
Congratulations to Alpha 2nd, lead by Specialist Seth Morris, on winning the competition!
The men learned how to use an alternative fire starting system, called the bow and drill!
Using only paracord, and different types of wood, the men can start a fire using friction. This system would be used if you were stranded in the woods with no gear to help start a fire.
Throwback to our very first Aviation Program in the Northwoods! We are excited to be still training students to be exceptional pilots, and extraordinary men!

Unit 62 got to hear from Eric Ludy about what it means to be a man. These men now have the chance to prove it in the weeks to come in Basic Training! Time to be a man, and get after it!
Charlie 1st completing a Navigation Exercise as a squad!
They had to navigate to certain locations and complete a task at each one. At one location they had to lash together, using ropes and poles, a table and benches that could support both themselves and their gear.
RFC Jonathan Burrell and RFC Lincoln Clark completed their solo flights! Congratulations men on earning your wings!
Thank you to Cpl. Kody Eyer for instructing Aviation and impacting the lives of our Students!
