Join the movement! Let's continue to promote eco-friendly transportation habits and make Malawi a greener, healthier nation.
ROSAF wishes to inform all road drivers to join us in supporting Road Safety Week by adopting a 30km/hr speed limit in busy areas. Slowing down saves lives—protect pedestrians, cyclists, and all road users. Together, we can make our streets safer for everyone.
#Roadsafetyweek
As we celebrate Labour Day, let's remember the importance of road safety. Workers are the backbone of our nation, and ensuring their safety on the roads is paramount. Let's prioritize safe driving practices, wear seatbelts, helmets, and follow traffic rules.

Additionally, distracted driving is a major contributor to road accidents worldwide. ROSAF is encouraging all drivers in Malawi to avoid all elements that can distract their driving.

Distracted driving can have serious consequences, including accidents, injuries, and even fatalities. It can result in reduced reaction times, impaired judgment, and loss of focus on the road, leading to collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, or objects.
ROSAF sincerely commends the DRTSS for it's unwavering commitment towards promotion of road safety and working with the civil society in Malawi in reduction of road crashes with 50% by 2030 as agreed in the 2021-2030 Decade of Action on Road Safety.
On March 26, 2024 to 27 March 2024, ROSAF initiated a two-day joint ROSAF-DTRSS Mobile MalTIS exercise at Kasungu Boma. The initiative aimed to reduce road crashes particularly involving motorcycle taxi riders (Kabaza operators) in Kasungu district.

The school was identified after ROSAF observed larger numbers of learners crossing the M1 road at the newly constructed Best Oil Filling Station to this school. The learners come from areas like Mchengautuwa, Chithira, Area 6, Salisbury Line, Chibavi, Target and Katoto.
The learners are daily exposed to cruising vehicles on this accident prone spot. We engaged the learners in different activities like walking on the right hand side, observing road signs, and importance of wearing school uniform.
