so many films to watch. so much knowledge to obtain. so many books to read. a lot more music to discover. many more people to meet. but only one life, how cruel.
when are people gonna realize that character flaws are different from bad writing??
"This character's too codependent!!" thats the point.
"This character's too naïve!!" thats the point.
"This character's too ignorant!!" thats the point.
Whenever i read great writers, i am reminded i am not as well read as i think i am. Then, i get excited because i realize that means there is more to read. More to learn! More to write! More to live!
Some people on this app act as though they have the moral right to use misogynistic language against a woman if she’s a bad person/they believe she’s a bad person. Misogyny is not a punishment and I think many people are too eager for the opportunity to put a woman in her place.
people replying to this saying “just be a good person” underestimate how easily i can convince myself that i actually did something horrible in the past that i can’t remember
Well yes, because Twitter activism has always been about personal fulfillment and ego, not about making actual change or doing real work. Every post is either “I stan the right people” and “look how much better I am then you because of it”. There has never been actual substance
you’re reducing a genocide to social media validation and substituting real action with empty digital praise. liking a post changes nothing and you’re just being performative by basing your morals and values on celebrities online. you just don’t care about the real issue
