President Stubb:
Europe is probably more united today than ever before.
We feel the security threat from the East, namely Russia, and we feel the political pressure from the West, namely the United States.
This squeeze has united Europe.
According to media reports, Italian Prime Minister Meloni has temporarily halted the delivery of a 13th military aid package to Ukraine, pending the results of the U.S. midterm congressional elections.
The Italian government emphasizes that this does not signify a complete cessation of aid.

Trump’s closing message to voters ahead of the midterms:
“You could even come to Mar-a-Lago… The problem is that for $5,000, the most you’ll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I’m not even sure you could buy that.”
Democrats are poised to win a landslide next week but this cocksucker will do whatever it takes to undermine the results.
So then what, America? You gonna let this orange fascist shitstain steal your democracy, or the fuck are you going to do about it?
Regarding the failed attempt to capture Tehran within two days, Trump stated: “We didn’t start a war with Iran! Iran started the war with us.”
In reality, on February 28, 2026, Trump had issued the order to begin a war against Iran.
It would seem that the speeches for the two “grandfathers” on their respective thrones—on either side of the ocean—are being penned by one and the same speechwriter from the Lubyanka.

No progress: Kyiv has received no new information—neither from Hegseth nor from the Pentagon—regarding the authorization of missiles for Patriot or NASAMS systems, reports Alex Raufoglu @ralexdc .
Furthermore, according to sources who spoke to a Radio Liberty journalist, there is absolutely no new information from the Pentagon concerning licenses for Patriot systems.
The "Student List" party, which won the parliamentary elections in Serbia, has stated that it will not impose sanctions against the Russian Federation, Reuters reports.
Furthermore, Serbia will continue to source gas and oil from Russia.
In addition, the new government plans to halt the supply of weapons to active combat zones. This includes the sale of arms to allies of Kyiv that are intended for subsequent transfer to the defense forces of Ukraine.
Trump appeared before a large audience and began loudly insulting Norway—labeling the country a "toilet" and a "shitty dump"—because Norway had refused to award him the Nobel Prize.
Unless the Americans take the microphone away from him, by the end of his term, Trump will have managed to fall out with every single country on earth—with the exception of Vanuatu; and that only because he cannot pronounce the name.

I met with the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Juozas Olekas. I thanked the Lithuanian people for their unwavering, strong, and consistent support for Ukraine.
We discussed in detail our European integration and the priorities of Lithuania’s presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2027. It is very important that the remaining two negotiating clusters for Ukraine be opened by the end of this year, so that during Lithuania’s presidency we can already begin closing negotiating chapters.
I briefed the Speaker on the meetings in Oslo and the overall situation in the negotiation process. We expect the trilateral meeting of the American, Ukrainian, and Russian teams to take place as early as the beginning of November.
I am grateful to Lithuania for supporting Ukraine.
Russian ballistic missiles struck the grounds of a university in Kyiv and the area around it – effectively the campus, Kyoto Park, the area near a metro station, and residential buildings. The exact number of casualties is not yet known. But tragically, there are victims. There are people injured. Rescue operations are underway. There is extensive damage, and there are also reports that people may be trapped under the rubble. All emergency services are at the scene and doing their work – saving lives. The missiles hit very crowded areas, and there is not a single military facility nearby. This was a strike directly on the city, on its infrastructure. Unfortunately, there may be more strikes coming. The attack with “shaheds” is also continuing – against Kyiv and our other cities and communities.
And it is precisely under such circumstances, when the threat is constant, when strikes can come at any moment and target cities and villages directly, that artificial delays in providing air defense to Ukraine help terror. It is important that political agreements be implemented promptly at the team level. It is important that our partners understand that Ukraine needs the proper tools to destroy Russian ballistic missile launchers. This would be the most effective way to save lives. It is important that the world sees that Russia is showing nothing but a desire to kill and continue waging war. Ukraine must not be left to face this alone, and it is solely Russia’s fault that the war is still going on and people are still dying. Please take care of yourselves. All partners should stand with Ukraine – with the protection of lives.
More than 200 Ukrainian POWs have been killed in russian captivity.
They survived the battlefield. They did not survive russian captivity.
Their deaths demand justice. russia must be held accountable.
Vance: "Remember in 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine and gas prices skyrocketed. They skyrocketed…They skyrocket every time some tin pot dictator decides to throw a tantrum."
Instead of a thousand words.
For 30 days, Ukrainian Defenders held a position inside a non-functioning gas pipeline on the frontline.

Trump turns to Melania and asks whether she wants to get more involved as he publicly praises her work on ceasefire efforts in Ukraine.
"Now she got a ceasefire," the president tells reporters, saying the agreement concerns children and elderly people.
The first lady says a ceasefire is scheduled to begin October 27 and welcomes the Pope's support while expressing hope that everything proceeds as planned.
A chemical plant is on fire in Omsk, Russia, about 2,500 km from Ukraine.
The plant produces synthetic rubber and other petrochemical products. They are used in the Russian defense industry to make tires and other components for military equipment.
Trump: While oil prices are temporarily high and will be falling dramatically in a short period of time, as soon as the war is over. There’s so much oil in the Hormuz Strait.
The United States oil and gas business is making hundreds of billions of dollars.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio:
That war [Russia's war against Ukraine] is about Donbas. It's about one region of the country. At its core, it's about 11% of one part of that country that Russia wants and cannot take militarily.
And that Ukraine is unwilling to give up. And they have their reasons why they don't want to do that for sovereignty and their own security long term.
Comment from me: the war is really not about Donbas.
