OMSD: A NEW STABLE ASSET FOR THE OMEGA ECOSYSTEM

As the @omega_net_x ecosystem continues to expand toward a more connected on chain economy, the need for assets designed around stability and everyday utility becomes increasingly important. This is where $OMSD enters the ecosystem.

Built as a stable sub token on the OV-20 blockchain, $OMSD is designed to provide a stable medium for holdings and transfers while supporting the growing utility of the Omega infrastructure.

The purpose of $OMSD extends beyond simply representing a stable value. It is being developed as a practical asset that can support ecosystem transactions and provide a foundation for future P2P activity after the mainnet launch.

With $OMSD, the @omega_net_x ecosystem is building another layer of utility around its infrastructure, creating a stable asset designed to work alongside the native OMG token and other ecosystem assets.

DAO OP-09: $OMSD FIRST PEGGING PHASE ON 20 SEPTEMBER?

A new governance decision is now before the @omega_net_x community as the ecosystem moves toward the next stage of $OMSD, the Omega Stable Dollar.

$OMSD is being developed as Omega Blockchain’s native stable-value layer, designed to provide a more stable and predictable form of value on Omega Blockchain. The objective is not to create another speculative asset, but to establish infrastructure that can support practical blockchain-based transactions, applications, and use cases where consistency of value matters.

The first step toward this vision is the initial $OMSD pegging phase, planned for 20 September 2026.

Under OP-09, the proposed first phase will involve 5 million $OMSD tokens on the Omega Blockchain. This initial phase represents an important step in moving OMSD from development toward its intended role within the broader Omega ecosystem.

Before this phase proceeds, the decision is being placed in the hands of the community through @omega_net_x DAO governance.

A few days ago, we introduced the Marketplace button inside the Grey Network mining app, giving our community a first look at one of the utilities we are actively building. The Marketplace, also accessible at https://t.co/pctwxKQVct, is part of our broader vision to create practical use cases for $GREY and establish an ecosystem where the coin serves a genuine purpose beyond mining.

The Grey Network Marketplace will allow users to shop for goods from participating merchants, pay with $GREY, and have their purchases delivered to their location. Through our Merchant Program, verified businesses will be able to register their stores and upload products for buyers to discover and purchase.

The Marketplace will initially support regional commerce, connecting buyers with merchants within or close to their region. As the merchant network grows, our goal is to expand beyond regional commerce into a global marketplace where users can purchase goods from merchants around the world and have them delivered to their locations.

At the heart of the Marketplace is $GREY as the means of payment. Goods and services offered through the platform will be purchased using $GREY, giving the coin a direct and practical function within the ecosystem. Merchants joining the Merchant Program will be required to accept $GREY and comply with applicable Marketplace policies covering product standards, merchant conduct, pricing, transactions, fulfilment, delivery and the applicable $GREY valuation.

The USD value of $GREY referenced within the Marketplace represents the estimated value being considered by Grey Network for the coin. While this remains subject to confirmation as development progresses, merchants participating in the Marketplace will be required to recognise and comply with the applicable $GREY value established by Grey Network.

Users will always have the freedom to use their $GREY as they choose, including trading or selling it elsewhere. Our goal is to build an ecosystem where $GREY has practical utility and can be used to access real goods, services and other utilities.

I wish to thank you for deeming it fit to provide some clarifications here, in a seeming damage-control effort to assuage frayed nerves.
However, it will really be difficult for presently restive Nigerians to heed your call to calm down and believe your version of the story 💯 because, as they say, once beaten, twice shy! This APC-led federal government and the 10th National Assembly that is over 85% dominated by APC have consistently shown disrespect and disdain to the wishes, choices, feelings, and aspirations of the vast majority of Nigerians. Nigerians have been lied to and manipulated serislly by this government of President Tinubu. Hence, it is now very difficult for Nigerians to trust this government and the subservient 10th National Assembly- that has consistently proved to Nigerians that they are only existing to ratify whatsoever PBAT wants and whatever favours his political interests- including gifting him a 2026 Amended Electoral Act that retains the 2022 legislative lacuna (discretionary power to INEC on the mode of transfer of election results) that Nigerians believe was used by INEC to subvert the expressed will of majority of Nigerian electorates in the 2023 presidential election!
The 10th NASS has a golden opportunity now, for once, attempt to convince their constituents, the Nigerian people and the international community that they care about what matters most to Nigerians (transparent, free, fair, and credible elections) and that they are not existing only to pander to the whims and caprice of PBAT!
We shall be keeping our radar focused on the activities and outcome of the NASS harmonisation committee and will respond accordingly if the outcome retains the controversial Section 60, sub-section 5, of the 2022 Electoral Act.
