Hey peeps!

Man it has been an eventful week! I hope everyone is doing alright out there 🙏

I know @TeamKujira have cocked up massively with their leveraged positions and we are all feeling the fallout from that 😪

There is a plan ( with more details to follow) and there is going to be big changes with a lot more transparency and hopefully wider partnerships coming soon.

Now is the time for all of us to rally though!

One thing the team has done, is built an amazing protocol and very promising, feature rich ecosystem. Their tech is the envy of many for how intuitive and slick it works, and to top that off, a fantstic and supportive community.

We as the community now have an opportunity to get our hands on $KUJI at prices last seen in the 1st week of their OG launch. This time though, it will be $KUJI being put into our hands that we can make a big difference with.

Its now up to us to support, rebuild and shape the future of Kujira🐋

It wont be easy! It will be a long road! However it will be a worthwhile path to travel.

There is literally a section in defillama named BOW LEVERAGED FARMING on Kujira. Also, the team advertised this feature when it came out numerous times and we were all happy because we had more liquidity

Mitch has some good ideas, but from a systematic standpoint, it's not too hard to see that the root cause of all the issues that Mitch points out here is the fixed, low mint rate.

In the simplest terms, USK is a way to gain liquidity without selling your collateral. Liquidity is a valuable thing to have -- you can trade, leverage, lend, or use it in a dozen other ways to profit. That's why liquidity should have a cost.

There are two major ways to weigh the "cost" of a position. One is to simply consider the interest rate on the position. The other way that liquidity can become costly is risk, often referring to the fact that, should the market move against you, your position may be liquidated.

Now, the easiest way to see how the opportunity-cost, from a protocol health perspective, is not properly tuned is to consider this simple scenario:

1. Mint 100 USK, at 1%/year interest
2. Lend 100 USK, at >10%/year interest

You're netting more than 9%/year on your position, nearly risk free.

For such a risk-free strategy, the net profit must be much closer to being break-even to make for a healthy system. To balance this, you need to either increase the risk of the position (impossible, in the above scenario), or increase the cost of creating such a position.

USK backing riskier positions, such as margin positions, leveraged products, or et cetera, might be able to be minted out at a different rate, since the position is inherently riskier.

This is why dynamic interest rates are necessary. In times where the supply is in a healthy state, interest rates will stay low. However, when the opportunity cost is imbalanced, USK will depeg, and there need to be strong incentives to bring it back to peg for those who are using risk-free strategies.
