@HeyTweetJon@nickgeorge967@IrishBearsShow Especially after FIFA recently suspended the Nepalese FA for government interference when this is government interference with a positive outcome for the country interfering
@HeyTweetJon@nickgeorge967@IrishBearsShow You are completely missing the point. Trump called fifa to get it looked at. This shouldn't be a thing that anyone has sway to decide to just look at this and rectify it as a mistake. That sets a very dangerous precedent for the sport if political power can overturn decisions
@nickgeorge967@HeyTweetJon@IrishBearsShow The Ronaldo suspended ban is a prime example as to why this is also problematic as his should definitely not have been suspended and was contentious at the time and still is. It is not a good example at as an exception that was justified.
@HeyTweetJon@IrishBearsShow The whole point of sports is playing to a set of rules that everyone has agreed to. Even if the suspension of the suspension is the correct decision of which I am skeptical that it is. The process that got them to that point is problematic and creates a dangerous precedence.
@HeyTweetJon@IrishBearsShow You are trying to use an analogy where there are systems in place that state that if there wasn't a warrant or there wasn't a situation where there was a lawful search or arrest and the judge overturns it. You would also have an opportunity to sue the police in that situation.
@HeyTweetJon@IrishBearsShow Well retroactively go and fix all of the other mistakes that have been made in this world cup. You can't just pick one and fix that and ignore every other single one. Just because it benefits you and the team you support doesn't mean its right.
@HeyTweetJon@IrishBearsShow Regardless of the situation it is a very slippery slope to just retroactively pick and choose decisions to overturn in games when the rules do not allow any review or appeal process. Why have no other questionable cards been reviewed and overturned?
