On July 13, a Muslim graveyard in Mostar was defaced with swastikas and a severed pig’s head left on its grounds. Today, we learn that a similar incident has occurred at a Muslim graveyard in Livno, which has been defaced with Ustasha graffiti.
Much has been written about Serb nationalist extremism in Bosnia. But too little attention has been paid to similar patterns of Croat nationalist extremism, which also target Bosnia’s majority Bosniak community, but also its historic Jewish population.
The cynical hysterics of the HDZ authorities in Zagreb and Bosnia cannot be permitted to halt collective efforts to tackle this very real, and growing problem.
@JasminMuj I read this superb book. Jasmin’s historical analysis and insightful understanding of Sarajevo’s challenges today demonstrates how the Dayton Agreement failed (and continues to) the Bosniaks. 🇧🇦
If Djokovic is genuine in wanting reconciliation with Serbia's neighbours, he could begin by acknowledging the Bosnian genocide orchestrated by the Serbian regime rather than obfuscating the facts and suggesting a symmetry of guilt. His position is disingenuous, to say the least
The facts of Michael Flynn's most peculiar foray in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which appear to have significant political and legal ramifications both in Sarajevo and Washington.
1. Michael Flynn is a registered lobbyist for Kremlin-backed Bosnian Serb secessionist regime of Milorad Dodik, who has been removed from office by the Bosnian courts but continues to govern the Republika Srpska (RS) entity in all but name.
2. Flynn was instrumental in securing sanctions relief for Dodik from the Trump administration in October 2025, despite Dodik's continued direct threats to the US-brokered Dayton Peace Agreement.
3. AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC is a (very) recently incorporated firm based out of Wyoming, whose only known principals are Joseph Flynn, Michael Flynn's brother, and Jesse Binnall, Mike Flynn's lawyer.
4. AAFS has no known employees, nor any known history of any infrastructure or any other project whatsoever, yet it has been championed by the US Embassy in Sarajevo as the lead candidate in the construction of the Southern Interconnection gas pipeline in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose value is estimated at some $200 million.
5. Today, the government of the Federation entity published the draft of a lex specialis which ejects the country's own state-owned gas utility from the Southern Interconnector project in favor of AAFS.
Why are authorities in Sarajevo granting such significant concessions to a firm which has no relevant industry experience, and whose principals are directly linked to the the No. 1 threat to that country's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity?
And by what process did the US Embassy come to promote the involvement of AAFS in the Southern Interconnector project? Were other US or BiH firms allowed to bid for the project? If so, where is the evidence of that bidding process? And if not, why not -- and was that decision legal under US law?
It is not in keeping with rule of law standards - domestic or those of the EU - for Bosnia to pass a lex specialis to eject the Bosnian public gas authority from the construction of the Southern Connector pipeline and replace it with US-based AAFS, owned by Joe Flynn, brother of secessionist Dodik Mike Flynn.
It's also absurd given that AAFS has zero experience in gas pipeline construction, or management, and their evident links to the chief national security threat to the Bosnian state.

The measures imposed against Kosovo were one of the most egregious foreign policy blunders of the EU over the past thirty years. The EP should demand a full accounting from the Commission, and seek removal of all career officials involved in recommending the policy.
Bosnia’s Amb. to U.S., also a prominent member of the country’s historic Jewish community, unloads on the “synchronized xenophobia” promoted by two recent Washington Times op-eds; “Dodik and…Primorac promote ideologies that have led to mass atrocities.” https://t.co/AivFY0a3fy
🚨📢 Excited to announce that I’ve signed a deal with St Martin’s to write a new book: WE WIN, THEY LOSE: The Untold Story of How the Miracle on Ice Turned the Tide of the Cold War.
It will be the first book to examine the Miracle on Ice not simply as the greatest moment in sports history but as a geopolitical event that helped restore America’s self confidence, rally the country behind Ronald Reagan’s plan for victory, and changed the course of world history. Can’t wait to started!
On this fifth anniversary of January 6th, I wanted to pass along remarks I made about that fateful day at the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award ceremony last year.
I first spoke about the men and women in uniform- the true heroes that day; how I will always believe that, by God’s grace, I did my duty to see to the peaceful transfer of power under the Constitution and I expressed my heartfelt gratitude to the countless Americans of every background who have reached out with a word of encouragement these past five years.
January 6 was a tragic day but it became a triumph of freedom when, after Capitol Police quelled the violence, leaders in both chambers in both political parties reconvened the very same day and finished democracy’s work under the Constitution.
The Constitution is the common ground on which we stand. In these divided times, I believe more than ever that on that common ground we will forge a boundless future together and America’s best days are yet to come.
So Help Us God.
