Piglet explained to Tigger that he mustn’t mind what Eeyore said because he was ALWAYS gloomy; and Eeyore explained to Piglet that, on the contrary, he was feeling particularly cheerful this morning; and Tigger explained to anybody that he hadn’t had any breakfast yet. ~A.A.Milne
"I found courage in the countryside, in nature. Being alone never frightened me, even at night, provided I was in contact with my surroundings - with the grass underfoot, with the dim shapes of trees and distant mountains. This was what I clung to." ~C.R.Milne
After breakfast they went to see Piglet. Tigger, who had been hiding behind trees and jumping out on Pooh’s shadow when it wasn’t looking, said that Tiggers were only bouncy before breakfast, and that as soon as they’d had a few haycorns they became Quiet and Refined. ~A.A.Milne
They played Poohsticks. And Eeyore, who had never played before, won more times than anybody else; and Roo fell in twice, the first time by accident and the second time on purpose, because he saw Kanga coming from the Forest, and he knew he’d have to go to bed anyhow. ~A.A.Milne

“What’s happened to your tail?” Pooh said in surprise.
“What HAS happened to it?” said Eeyore.
“It isn’t there!”
“That Accounts for a Good Deal,” said Eeyore gloomily. “It Explains Everything. No wonder. Somebody must have taken it. How Like Them.” ~A.A.Milne
“Faith is an emotion and does not listen to reason. Like love it is something we feel. Without it - faith in the ordered running of the world, faith in other people, faith in ourselves - we could scarcely survive. And so whatever happens, faith must be kept alive.” ~C.R.Milne
“Have you seen Small anywhere about?” said Rabbit.
“Who is Small?” said Pooh. “Did you want him for anything?”
“I don’t WANT him, but it’s always useful to know where a friend-and-relation IS, whether you want him or whether you don’t.” ~A.A.Milne
“It’s hard to be brave,” said Piglet, “when you’re only a Very Small Animal.”
Rabbit said: “It is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us.”
Piglet was so excited at the idea of being Useful that he forgot to be frightened. ~A.A.Milne
