"kimi, I've had an eye on him since his very first outings on four wheels or nearly so. very quickly, I realized he could go far, even carving out a spot in the F1 light. during his rookie season last year, in a top team like mercedes, he learned a ton. honestly, i wasn't expecting to see him leap to such a high level as early as this spring. he's delivering exceptional work. george hasn't been too lucky on several occasions. the 43 points separating them today don't paint a perfect picture.
watching kimi, i'm struck by that carefree spirit that's so typical of youth. on track, he always gives it everything, without a second thought. in a period like this, where you have to adapt to a whole new technical direction, that's a real strength."
@clubedekimi But he's winning, haha. He's the leader, and maintaining his lead depends on him. What I interpreted from George's statement was that if he keeps this up, the championship is his.
Lily Collins was spotted with Sergio Perez and the Cadillac team in Monaco. 🇲🇨
Collins is reportedly filming scenes for the Netflix show “Emily in Paris.”

@scuderiadreams So, which team do you prefer for Leclerc: Haas, Aston Martin, Alpine, Audi? It's the right decision; it's smart to stay with a team and project he knows. At some point, Ferrari will make the leap. Besides, what team is going to pay him 50 million without him being a champion?

Bradley Lord (Deputy TP of Mercedes) on George’s Canada weekend and his DNF:
“It's always a funny feeling when one car has won the race and the other one's retired through no fault of the driver. Because it's very very hard to feel truly jubilant when you've seen 18 points, or could have been 25 or 18 for George, but a 1-2 go begging. Absolutely no fault of George's, he drove brilliantly all weekend and I think would have been a very worthy winner of the Grand Prix as well after his performances to take two pole positions and the sprint win.
But yeah, a sudden sort of kill of the earth system on the car as he came into turn 8 and then that did a reasonable amount of damage afterwards as well. We got the car back. We were able to get the module out of it. It had to go undergo some sort of pretty unusual safety procedures and then has to be shipped back actually to the UK. So, it'll be several months before the hardware gets back and we need to really dig through the data to understand exactly what went wrong and then how can we try and prevent a repeat on any of the other modules in the future.”
🗣️: “Picking up on that Evan, how much notification or pre-warning do you get when certain issues arise on the car when you're just looking at the telemetry and the data?”
Evan Short (Mercedes’ Head of Trackside Electronics and Controls): “Like in this particular case, very little. So we're looking at the data, the first thing we see is a sudden stop in all the squiggly lines that we're looking at. And of course, the first thing we think is ‘oh, something's gone wrong on my laptop.’ And then you look around and think ‘oh, no one's got any data.’
And actually, because we're not watching, the engineers don't tend to be watching the television live, that's the first thing you notice and it's only when you then glance up at the TV and see the car grinding to a halt that you realize what's really happened.
But as Bradley says, you know, we've got a lot of folks going through that data now with a fine-tooth comb. So, well, we won't have the hardware back. I'm sure there's going to be some clues in the seconds leading up to the failure.”
@DutchTortill Yes, Kimi does very well. But in China, George couldn't take pole position due to car problems. In Japan, he was affected by the SC and finished P5 for of a super bug caused by the team. In Miami, he was very slow. And in Canada, his car stalled; Kimi wasn't at the front.
@JoaoPed76970932@MercedesAMGF1BR The driving has nothing to do with it; the failure was internal to the battery. Kimi and George were doing the same thing, both in terms of pace and energy recovery. Toto and Allison explained that it was an internal failure and a reliability issue, that has nothing to do with GR
