🚨Florida’s self-anointed “protect the children” crusader Ron DeSantis just did the unthinkable to an innocent child victim.

After the arrest of his appointee—former Palm Beach County Clerk Mike Caruso—on charges of m*lesting a child under 5, the governor’s office mass-emailed and posted the full eight-page arrest affidavit. Only the boy’s name was blacked out. Everything else—relationship to Caruso, county of residence, graphic details of the alleged acts—remained. Within hours the child’s identity was an open secret online.

Victims’ advocates called it cruel and unnecessary. Attorney Spencer Kuvin, who has represented Epstein survivors, warned the document will permanently link the child to the case: “This will cause trauma for the victim for the rest of his life.” Former state Sen. Lauren Book, herself a childhood abuse survivor, said she was “deeply, deeply triggered” and labeled the release a “complete revictimization.” The child’s own attorney called privacy for victims “deserved.”

Florida law and Marsy’s Law exist precisely to shield s*xual abuse victims’ identifying information.

DeSantis signed legislation strengthening those protections earlier this year. His office claims it consulted the AG and “complied with applicable Florida law.” Critics note the new exemptions were simply ignored when the optics of a high-profile Republican arrest mattered more.

This is the same administration that lectures endlessly about LGBTQ “grooming” and parental rights while treating an actual alleged child victim as a press release prop. The right only cares about “protecting the children” if they can demonize minorities in the process.
