They're not "migrants". Migrants go to an embassy, apply for a visa, wait their turn and then come when they're allowed.

These people are *illegally* entering a European country. Given that Europe has no borders within it, they are effectively entering all of Europe illegally. And from there, since Britain won't enforce our borders either they can come here.

I really hate the language that people sometimes use when discussing these issues but 50 THOUSAND people coming into a country illegally in a day can only be described truthfully with one word: invasion.

These people are invading our countries against our will. If you're someone who is really concerned about the "rise of the far right", you should be calling and actively working for this to be dealt with with extreme urgency. Because if liberals don't police the borders, fascists will.

Spain was held up by part of the mainstream as a model of migrant integration. It was never true. Now it's a full blown crisis.

The wave of illegal immigration is the direct result of the Socialist government’s policies.
Repeated mass regularisations, subsidies and repeating that illegal migration pays.

For years, Spain has attracted uncontrolled inflows with promises of legal status and public transfers, while Brussels looked the other way because headline GDP grew and the statistics looked “inclusive”.

The cost is borne by Spanish workers and taxpayers and, increasingly, by the entire European Union, which tolerated Spain’s destructive policies as long as they printed aggregate GDP, even as GDP per capita stagnated and pressure on public services and social unrest intensified.

Today in Ceuta, GDP is “going up”… but locals are poorer and worse off: more migration pressure, overwhelmed public services and growing dependence on taxpayer money, while the Spanish Government brags about the numbers and abandons the border.

Half juni daalden de gasprijzen met 10%. Ik kreeg reacties in de trant van: "je zorgen waren onnodig"/onterecht". Inmiddels zijn de gasprijzen weer 10% gestegen.
Hoe de situatie in oktober zal zijn weet ik niet. Dat NL/EU zich inmiddels in een nogal kwetsbare energiesituatie heeft gemanoeuvreerd, is echter zeker.

Qua erfbelasting denk ik dat je veel meer binnen hengelt als overheid als je *de eerste* 100K volledig (dus 100%) belast. Dat is eerlijk, want dat raakt iedereen en is solidair. Je hebt immers niets gedaan voor dat geld.

Treurig. Afschaffen van de erfbelasting kan een bijdrage leveren aan herstel van een niet met de overheid verknoopt maatschappelijk middenveld , minder mensen afhankelijk van de overheid te maken en regie terug te geven over hun eigen leven. Verhoging van de erfbelasting doet het omgekeerde.
