I think the only way to have a real digital code is to have it set with laws. Teaching kids not to swear or spread hate speech online will work to a certain extent but some will realize their really isn't any consequences and will still do it. Having laws is a must! #lesson13
@gcolatosti1 I agree! Not enough laws are in place to punish people who commit online bullying or any sort of cybercrime really. Governments need to step up and make sure the internet is a safe place for all. #lesson13
@EderyNaomi Very true! It is very easy to edit a video to push a certain ideology or view on people. We must be careful and really analyze online content to make sure that we are getting the full story, we may have to due extra research on our own to get the full picture. #lesson12
@gcolatosti1 Great point, social media allows us to view things for what they truly are without being influenced by a political agenda by what ever new organization is relaying us the information #lesson12
Do you think that sometimes especially in countries that aren't as democratic and free the government sends in people to cause a ruckus in these protest so they have a reason to shut them down and justify using violence agaisnt their people? #lesson12
I love that with the use of the internet and social media sites, people in countries such as Egypt are able to get their message across to people that may not be aware of the situation and shed light on the terrible things happening to them #lesson12
Although I'm not sure Disney was trying to send an intentional message to young children I can see how they could be disturbing looking back at them! I think Disney is trying to make it right with movies like Frozen where the main heroes of the story are female #lesson11
@DavidFe19981492 Agreed, as with anything in life you can put a twist on it and portray it in a negative or positive way. If you're looking for something negative in almost any tv show or movie you will find it #lesson11
@laurennmacd I agree I feel like today people over analyze everything to find some sort of problem with whatever it may be. I might be wrong but I really think these movies were just meant for pure entertainment value. #lesson11
@KhalisRand Honestly it's so heartbreaking to hear how women are treated in certain countries. I hope the day comes where Arab women finally have a voice and are seen and treated as equals in the Arabic Countries and no longer have to live in the shadows trying to please "society" #lesson10
@B16Marghe@SamanthaAyoub4@KShamshoum That its the most disturbing thing I have ever heard. Unless there is 100% consent rape is rape, what the woman is wearing has 0 correlation with the horrific act being forced on them. That second part is what really shocked me how is that even a thing truly horrific #lesson10
@SanaHasan595 @ApponiBianca You are a representation of your company so if you post hateful, homophobic, racist, or videos of you doing things that would reflect poorly on the company and they can easily check because you posted it online then ya fair game! #lesson9
@DrouinJahna Agreed! I think a major problem is parents not teaching their kids what should and shouldn't be posted. Parents and teacher should help teach and inform younger kids about the "dangers" of social media and how your information can be used to target you #lesson9#educ307
@catlady23908051 Exactly! People are so fast to blame facebook or twitter but you agree to all this when you sign up. If you really don't want anyone using your information just stay off social media sites it isn't forced upon you. #lesson9#educ307
People need to also realize that social media sites and most websites track your data with cookies to see what you are doing even when not on their site! This is how they retarget you for purchases and so on! Be thoughtful when online! #lesson9#educ307
@NaomiY19421636 Completely agree! people get mad when a picture or something they posted about is used against them. If you don't want it to come back and bite you just don't post it! #lesson9#educ307
I agree privacy is a right, but you should realize when posting on social media you are giving up that right and allowing them to use that however they want! #lesson9#educ307
@alessiapepe4 But you are signing consent that anything you post can be used publicly when you join a social media site. No one is forced to sign up for facebook/twitter or instagram, when you sign up part of the conditions you accept is that they can use anything you post! #lesson8
