@AlexisS05765933 In my opinion its crucial to analyze these movies because if we don't then we are just consuming these products blindly and feeding these underlying toxic messages to children. This is what the large companies want they want us to be blind and buy buy without thinking #lesson11
@Chelsea65811666 Agreed. I therefore think that Disney has so much power to make a change. This corporation must change its mentality from money making to better citizens making!!
@PSYCMAJ2@Christina2817 I think there is a mix of explicit and subliminal messages. If children don't grasp it now, they will later on as they get older.
"It takes an adult or someone to be around a lot to understand the underlying meaning... so it doesn't harm kids" FALSE FALSE FALSE! It is especially harmful to kids because they pick up meanings without thinking whether it is right or wrong. #Lesson11
@DanielaEDUC307 I agree that social media is a great tool to reach out however there are still limitations such as women living in poverty who are not able to access the online platforms. We must acknowledge the lack of online access in some areas of the world. #lesson10
@mika77776564 @Chelsea65811666 I think it is good that it attracts people who are against it because that is the reality of things. Also, this leads to the potential of interactivity, the ripple effect and public exposure to discourses that face to face could not be even mentioned.
Given that feminists who show their faces are then either put in jail, disowned by their family or even killed... the invisibility social media offers is a real benefit. #Lesson10
@SamanthaAyoub4@KShamshoum What shocked me is that they ask the women what she was wearing and why she was wearing that AND also that if the rapist asks the women for marriage his sentence is reduced...!!!!
WhenI first read about orientalism I thought that because I had arab friends and visited one arab country I knew the reality of it... after #lesson10 I clearly do not. Arab feminism does exist and we must help and promote their voices
When I post a picture of a vacation, I do it at the airport as I am leaving the place. When I post about a restaurant or somewhere I went to, I post it at the end of the day. This way, no one knows where I am in that exact moment. #Lesson9
@WCGMatrix Many times, apps such as Facebook require you to be a certain age but you can just lie about it and create an account. I think it is important for apps to ensure the age before allowing an individual to create an account.
