NEW: NCAA President Charlie Baker on Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby's ruling:
"There is no better example of why targeted intervention from Congress is necessary. When you have schools and deep-pocketed supporters willing to look the other way on the glaring integrity threat of betting on your own team - and judges whose rulings effectively strip away our ability to stop them - only Congress can equip the NCAA to apply this common sense rule to everyone fairly and consistently. The Protect College Sports Act would empower the NCAA to enforce rules including the gambling restrictions - it's needed now more than ever."

Sources: TCU is expected to hire UConn offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis as the school's new offensive coordinator. He's a two-time Broyles Award nominee and worked as UConn's play caller for the school's 18 wins over the past two years.
TCU is falling behind at the exact moment when it just can't afford it.
It's great that TCU cracked the CFP in 2022. Awesome stuff. There's a very real chance that in a month's time, Texas, SMU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and - heck - possibly UNT(!) all will have had a more recent CFP appearance than the Frogs. That carries weight, in The Lone Star State and nationally.
Sure, TCU might be winning more than it is losing. But does 15-7 since the start of last season really do that much? All seven of those losses have been ugly in their own unique way, and frankly, bowl eligibility is a footnote in the 12-team CFP era.
TCU has one of the biggest football talent pools right in its backyard. TCU has shown what it *can* be for a small private school so many times. Heck, there is Big 12-title-caliber talent on this roster. There isn't really an acceptable reason for the program to not consistently be top-5 in the conference.
I'm not here to tell you what the solution is. But I can tell you is that TCU needs to find one quickly. Because the moment you settle for complacency, this game will leave you behind faster than you can blink ... and with nothing more than memories of the good times left behind.
