"run out of town" ... as in Marner was scouting houses in Vegas a year before, Vegas caught for tampering, Marner refused re-sign offers, Leafs forced to settle for sign and trade deal. you mean THAT run out of town?
Why does it seem like 90% of hockey fans think the Leafs “let Marner walk” they offered to sign him to a $13m/yr contract…. Mitch is the one who quit on the Leafs.
Mitch knew he couldn’t handle real pressure. He’d rather play in front of fans who don’t know what offside is
@AdjustedHockey@JoKally11@DailyFaceoff The Leafs best goaltending of that time coming when they faced the biggest outlier in terms of GSAX is pretty on brand. 13 in a five game series… how on earth??!!
Easton Cowan was pretty blunt when talking about his game and, more specifically, his turnover on the Penguins’ game-winner tonight, saying he cost the Marlies the game and promising to be better on Friday:
“Yeah, I gotta be better. It starts with me. I just cost my team the game, so I gotta be better, and I will be Friday. Like I said, it starts with me. I gotta be better, and we will be. We all will be Friday. Unfortunately, like I said, I cost my team the game. Obviously, I don’t want to do that. I gotta make a better play. I can’t do anything about it now. Gotta move on and be better.
Eh, (my game) was okay. I know I got more, so I’ll bring it Friday.”

Here’s the thing about Toronto: If the Maple Leafs had bowed out of the playoffs playing as badly as the Canadiens did in their last three games, the Leafs would be hearing it til October. The Habs? They were just out of gas and beaten by a better team.
@jakebeleafs@danriccio_@RobWong34 "Boy the Leafs could use a guy like that"
Yeah... offered him more than Matthews, declined. Tried to trade him, vetoed. All the while house-shopping in Vegas.
