Who was Dhul al-qarnayn, and why does the Quran’s stories match the man-made fictional historical fantasy Alexander Romances?
You’re purposefully missing the point, you can’t serve God by serving a conman.
You keep pretending to be a logical person but then using that facade as a cover for defending the most illogical and improbable positions.
It’s a complete double standard in the standards your apply to different texts.
One example, If Muhammad claims to confirm the earlier scriptures you take it as validation of Muhammad being in their lineage. But if Muhammad contradicts those scriptures, which he does hundreds of times, you take them as corrupted and reinterpret “confirm” as “correct” even though that’s not the plain meaning. Double standard in action.
Showing that the Quran plagiarized fan fiction historical fantasies like the Alexander Romances is showing that Muhammad and his followers couldn’t even discern fantasy from history, let alone true revelation.
Muhammad and his followers knew Arab poems like those of Umayya well - Umayya wasn’t a prophet yet his versions of the same stories make the same mistakes as Muhammad.
Are you really saying a man like Umayya knew truer versions of the stories than the very Scriptures Muhammad told his followers to go check - and if so, how?
It’s not just the Torah and Tanakh (the Tanakh including actual historical record of court Scribes) that are witnesses against Muhammad, it’s also the Gospels, and it’s also the apocrypha, and it’s also historical record of characters like Alexander the Great. Not to mention logic and common sense.
So you have several different communities and Muhammad contradicts them all independently. And he tells the same corrupted versions of stories as earlier Arab poets who weren’t prophets.
There are easily falsifiable statements in the Quran you’re denying.
For example - Muhammad told his followers that Jews worship Ezra as a son of God, which is an obvious false statement.
Quran 9:30
The Jews say, ‘Ezra is the son of Allah,’ and the Christians say, ‘The Messiah is the son of Allah.’
And whenever people like you are confronted with an easily falsifiable claim you start making excuses for what Muhammad “actually meant” because at the back of your mind you know that if you read it with the plain meaning in context you’d have to admit Muhammad made an easily falsified statement which raises the question of whether he was deluded or deceitful.
But he didn’t actually close off trade with the rest of the world.
Tariffs that level prices between domestic and foreign goods aren’t closing off trade.
Tariffs may hurt the economy in the short term, but protecting industries and allowing them to recover can be net beneficial long term.
In the Jewish tradition, Satan is an adversary, opponent, accuser who talks against God (not a fiery hell demon with horns) and tests someone’s righteousness.
In a psychological sense, Judaism and Christianity elevate a God with the desired, admired values. That’s a psychological role in the mind’s eye. The paragon of those values to aspire to.
So the snake in the garden of Eden which convinces Eve to oppose God’s command for her self interest becomes associated with a tool of Satan and the evil inclination.
So Satanic, could, from a psychological perspective, mean ideologies and people that disparage, demoralize, attack, and talk against that paragon of values.
He’s a symptom, an output, of a corrupted process.
Unless you fix the corruption in the process, similar outputs will keep repeating.
Anatomy of a Machine / System:
Input —> Process / Function —> Output
The process and functions are corrupted here.
The people who promoted him need to go too.
Punishing corruption warns off corrupters.
There are two different statistical approaches to a question like this.
What wasn’t mentioned, but that evolutionary biologists would be more comfortable with is Bayesian inference.
Bayesian inference begins with prior probabilities based on existing evidence and updates them as new evidence arrives. It does not assume a blank slate. It asks: given what we already know and these new data, how probable is each competing hypothesis?
In contrast, Classical hypothesis testing begins with a chosen null hypothesis.
That null is often “no difference,” but it does not have to be - it can be “there is a difference”. And this later method is used in practical application like pharmacology.
For example, in comparing a new medicine with an existing medicine (non-inferiority and equivalence testing), the null is that treatments are different until sufficient evidence shows they are equivalent.
Another common mistake people make when applying hypothesis testing is that if a study fails to reject the null, especially for insufficient evidence, that does not prove the null is true.
It means only that there was insufficient evidence to reject the particular null that was chosen. A common mistake is to treat “failed to reject” as “proved true.”
European Christians, starting with the Catholic Spanish, the Portuguese, the Dutch, and then the British, drove the slave trade, just accept the history even if you don’t like the outcome.
Europeans killed each other in the Dutch Portuguese war, the Anglo-Dutch war and the war of Spanish succession for who would control the slave trade.
Only losers blame the Jews.
The majority aren’t trying to beat the S&P on a non-drawdown adjusted basis.
They’re intentionally taking less drawdown risk than the S&P.
The mandate for investment managers isn’t to produce higher returns than the S&P, it’s to produce better drawdown adjusted returns (which can be levered) or non-correlated returns.
Good post, perhaps some impact is lost calling it capitalism as compared to something like free markets.
Unfortunately capitalism has been tarnished as the worship of capital and the alienation of the worker as capital.
Whereas free markets or other some such term denotes more freedom of individuals and capital to choose where to allocate their attention and labor.
The substitution fallacy: because this is sometimes false, therefore communism is true.
When this is more true for free markets than it is for communism.
Communism is structural defined concentration of power and always tends towards concentration of power.
Free markets allows more social mobility based on value creation because even in the bourgeoise they compete with each other for capital allocation and returns.
such an exaggerated post. It’s just tech down and consumer staples / values up because funds are long tech and short non-ai. And when tech goes down they reduce short exposure too to keep net exposure within bounds.
There is crowding in the same positions, but today was just an overbought market settling down a bit.
@AmmiHirsch@FreeSynagogue Are you wondering why a movement to undermine Judaism eventually loses support from its own base?
It’s because it undermined the foundational pillar, and unlike other supersessionist religions, it didn’t replace the pillar.
