@metaplexmovies Between this and Villeneuve's nuclear war movie, it's so beyond parody that the execs' takeaway from Barbenheimer apparently was "We need our finest craftsmen to make smash hits about the bomb"
@IlGlaz His first films are IRL versions of that 'arthouse is all capitalism allegories from a pigeon's POV' meme, after the hiatus there comes shameless misery porn, and then he finally finds himself as a poor man's Nolan/Fincher/Scott/Kubrick. Been a hack all the way through, IMO
@Waraboshi So bleak. The discourse was already poisoned but after Oct 7 it became absolutely insufferable. I admire the strength it takes to argue with the worst online people on Earth abt the worst offline people on Earth but can't help thinking how ruinous that might be. Stay safe

@Waraboshi It was kind of eye-opening, though. A huge insight into how different worldviews actually form and operate and change and never consist of what I think it is judging by superficial glances and my own biases
@Waraboshi One of my roommates offered to split the expences 50/50. Another one handled all the injections we had to give her after the surgery. They were with me at all times, taught me, corrected my mistakes. I really hope you have such people around
@Waraboshi Speaking of support, when I first got the idea to adopt this cat, pregnant at the time, I had no clue how challenging/costly this would be. We had to take her to the vet multiple times, treat her from parasites, and recently got her sterilized. I couldn't pull it off on my own
@Waraboshi There's literally a 1992 film called THE CHEKIST about such a guy having a mental breakdown over attempts to justify endless executions to himself
