We want to share a huge thank you to @crawfordforwi and her team for the opportunity to be part of her 10-point win in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, a win that will protect abortion access, safeguard voting rights, support workers and so much more.
After a hard-fought election cycle, we were grateful for the opportunity to come together for our annual retreat and prepare for the fights ahead. We made time to celebrate our wins too—and there’s no better place to cheer for each other than at the White House bowling alley!
The @AFLCIO digital ad featuring workers reacting to Trump's attacks on OT pay was our highest performing of the cycle. It moved intent to vote by 12+ points among 3 million battleground union voters who viewed. An incredibly salient issue that workers care deeply about
So you hear this sentiment a lot, that Dems have abandoned working class voters. While I don’t totally agree - I can see the argument.
The question that no one ever follows up with though, is what exactly are Republicans offering the working class that’s better?
Bernie Sanders with a searing review of the Democratic Party:
“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.”
Godspeed to you if you're going to a party (?) to watch tonight, but I had a party in 2016 to watch the results, and the vibe shift that happened was so sudden and horrific that I'll quite simply never do that again in my life.
honestly part of the reason I left journalism in the first place! our media institutions are failing us by validating right-wing extremists (not to mention completely failing their workers who are underpaid and overworked)
What a serious loss for young families and a win for entrenched, McMansion homeowners.
Missing middle housing is not about launching skyscrapers & eyesores. It's insane we have to fight so hard for *six-unit* buildings on properties previously zoned for single-family homes.
✊ @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz will fight for the people and our freedom to thrive.
It’s time to kick the Mean Green Machine into action and win for our communities. Let's get to work!
