We went inside a secret school in Afghanistan, where more than 30 girls risk being arrested for gathering in the basement of a private home to continue their education under Taliban rule. As we were leaving, their teacher handed CBS New's @ImtiazTyab 21 letters the girls wrote by hand for us. They called them “Letters to the World.”

The girls poured their hopes, fears and dreams onto those pages, knowing they might never get the chance to share them with the outside world themselves. They wrote about the education they lost, the futures they still dream of and their simple wish to live freely as girls.

They trusted us to carry their voices beyond that basement. And we promised them we would.

@GBC_Press What i noticed is that my child was sent to the ER by the school nurse after reading BP wrong. The “walk in the door” charge was 2300 dollars of which insurance paid zero. There was a ten dollar Tylenol charge (he didn’t even take it) and a separate physician charge on top.

@RealBrittHughes I think the discourse on this may be different if billionaires paid their taxes and helped with these programs. Middle class is getting taxed to death with none of the program or support AND we can’t get ahead no matter how hard we work.
