Being a safeguarding lead at the moment really just feels like being a broken cog in a broken system at times. Social care, CAMHS, schools... we're all drowning and no one seems to care. The kids aren't alright.
I see that the NEU are calling for schools to close. This falls into the same extreme as maintaining status quo in schools.
They should be calling for masks in classrooms, rotas, suspension of Ofsted, & big changes to exam content and structure.
They like the DfE let us down.
Am quite conflicted over this. My instinct is that schools need to be staying open as much as possible and that the NEU isn't right to push for school closures. Do most people agree with the NEU?
