LEONARD PELTIER IS FREE!!! AFTER 49 YEARS, 11 MONTHS, Leonard is going home!!! Congratulations to all who fought all these DECADES, from the Native Nations in the U.S., to the whole solidarity movement, to NDN Collective! ALL POWER TO YOU LEONARD!
@ScienceYael Keep putting in the good work! There will always be people who won't listen, but there will be people you legitimately help. Every voice makes a difference.
@CarriePoppyYES Oh my god. So many people are going to die or be injured. I already knew that from, well, every other policy they've proposed...but they just keep coming out with new ones.

@mel_buer 🤡: "Nobody is crippled by their absence. Their presence on those docs is totally unnecessary."
No way they actually believe this, right? It doesn't pass one second of thought. How do they think the work gets done? Do they think capitalists just pay them to labor for fun?...
The Hatuey Project just made another delivery of life-saving medicine to Cuban hospitals serving kids with cancer. We are already raising the money for yet another delivery. You can help! Donate here to help save a life & defeat the vicious US blockade: https://t.co/L40BNdjBzO
We use computer vision to estimate mouse mass and provide a non-invasive method to assess mass. Human handling has adverse effects on mouse experiments. We estimate the mass within 5% of actual mass, but it's not quite that simple.... https://t.co/ypSXxeCrCl
@mel_buer Currently designing a course & I refuse to require a textbook if it isn't open source. A colleague recently showed me Open Stax, an open source textbook resource by Rice University.
"If someone has a Y chromosome, they're a man!!!"
My dudes, if you karyotype tested every female athlete currently competing at the Olympics, you'd surprise a fair number of them with news they were "men" (by your definition).
@DeeVP Thank you! I keep checking the fire map multiple times a day. Somehow the fire hasn't spread to their street despite being several streets to the west by the first day. Glad you're somewhere safe, but I definitely know how stressful and scary that feeling is.
Hard not to have flashbacks to the Camp Fire looking at all these articles and pictures about the Thompson Fire...with family that left Paradise after 2018, moved to Oroville, and are now evacuated from another fire that is a few minutes drive from their new house.
@Goldrushcomic That is a rough silver lining, but I've had those thoughts too. Were all your family, friends, and pets able to make it? As sad as it's been to lose what we lost, I've always been really grateful that we only lost things.
I was across the country in grad school when the Camp Fire happened. I knew it still affected me, but I think I'm still realizing the subtle ways that it's still inside me.
