𝗔𝗙𝗖 𝗨𝗰𝗸𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀

AFC Uckfield Town are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Alex Saunders ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Alex Saunders arrives at The Oaks following six outstanding seasons with Seaford Town, where he established himself as one of the most consistent midfielders across SCFL Division 1 and the Prem.

A deep-lying playmaker at the heart of Seaford's midfield, Alex was instrumental in the club's SCFL Division One title winning campaign in 2024/25 before stepping up to the Premier Division last season, helping Seaford to a solid mid table finish at Step 5.

His consistency is reflected in a remarkable appearance record. Since joining Seaford ahead of the 2020/21 season, Alex has been available for 201 competitive fixtures, starting 195 of them and scoring 16 goals a testament to both his quality and reliability.

Comfortable dictating the tempo of a game, breaking up opposition attacks and setting his side on the front foot, Alex brings a wealth of experience and leadership to AFC Uckfield Town's midfield.

First Team Manager Tommy Haddon said:

"We're absolutely delighted to bring Alex to AFC Uckfield Town. To attract a player of his calibre, who has just come off the back of a full season playing and performing at Step 5, is a real statement for the football club and shows the direction we're trying to take things.

He's coming to us with excellent experience, having been a key player for Seaford over a number of seasons, including their promotion winning campaign and a strong season at Step 5. His consistency speaks for itself and we know he'll add real quality to the squad.

Alex is someone who reads the game exceptionally well, keeps the ball moving and gives everything for the team. He's exactly the sort of character we want around the group and, like everyone else, he'll work hard every week to earn his place. We're looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the club this season."
