I think a deep understanding of market dynamics is a kind of superpower in trading.
I saw many flipping long the other day just because USDT.D reached resistance.
But I was pretty clear on SUBS: a breakout was very likely.
Why?
Trend and range. Compression and expansion.
USDT.D is in a clear uptrend, and all the recent consolidation followed the same accumulation/re-accumulation schematic:
Lateral price action, deviation below, break above, uptrend continuation.
The last one? Same result: deviation below, break above, uptrend continuation.
If you simply draw levels and pull fancy indicators left and right, you’re turning TA into a makeup exercise on your chart. Some lipstick here, some mascara there, and your doll is ready.
You need to understand what’s happening, who’s in control, who did what, and why.
If you can do this with a naked chart, you’ll unlock your ultimate trading superpower.
A decent week. An extraordinary month.
JOURNAL - MAY 2026 — THE NUMBERS
25 trades. 15 wins. 6 losses. 4 BE.
Win rate 71% (excluding BE), 60% all-in.
Total profit: +24.9R.
Longs: 16 trades, 75% win rate.
Shorts: 9 trades, 33% win rate.
Average R win: +1.92. Average R loss: -0.67.
THE WEEK
Took a loss on a standard range play on BTC short. Price actually went down afterwards, but it was a weird range that gave multiple sweeps.
Probably the cost of doing business on a young range, and above all part of trading ranges where price action can be erratic. I would probably play it again the same way.
Still have a swing short on BTC open, no profit taken yet. It is a swing, so I will stay disciplined as long as I do not see proper reversal signs.
Caught two nice movers: XLM and XPL.
XLM, in hindsight I could have played it smarter. It was in a range, but I neglected the fact that the range high was tested many times, so a breakout was forecastable. That cost me a few R. Lesson learned.
XPL still open, secured some. Pure shitcoin, so not giving it too much hope. We will see.
THE MONTH
The stars of May were the altcoin rotations.
ONDO, INJ, CRV, TIA, USELESS.
Caught most of the outperformers and rode the most juicy part of each move.
In hindsight I could have probably secured more on all of them, but that is not my focus. I am happy to catch the meat of the move, take profit, turn page.
Playing those rotations and catching them when they mattered made this month truly exceptional. Probably the most profitable month of the last 18 months.
THE BIAS SHIFT
I have spent the past months heavy on the short side. This month, finally, longs outweighed shorts (16 vs 9).
That was thanks to a proper reading of the change in market dynamics, especially on alts where downtrends were slowing down and price started to accumulate laterally. Very simple concept, huge impact on performance.
You can see most of my losses came from shorts. Luckily I contained that side and did not short much overall. The 33% win rate on shorts vs 75% on longs tells the whole story.
CUTTING LOSSES
As always, aggressive on cutting losses quickly. Most losses are full -1R or less, average loss came in at -0.67R. That speaks for itself.
THE YEAR
Sitting at +70R YTD, with a positive monthly streak of two years now.
I am extremely proud of these results. Might not look crazy for many, but for me they are above any expectation I had when I started.
Win small. Win small. Win small. Once in a while, win big. Never lose big. That is the entire game.

@SailorManCrypto no clean sweep, the PA is more choppy than a range it needs more volatile move and more clean to be a valide range with clear break of structure also
bitcoin:native clear example of POI aggression, absorption, trapped sellers and price refueling higher.
You can see sellers getting aggressive on the tape at that POI, while price gets absorbed instead of continuing lower.
At the same time, there was a nice liquidation cluster on Bybit and Binance.
~500K liquidated in 2 minutes across aggregated exchanges.
After the initial push, price gets held by passive bids.
12 candles holding the level without continuation lower = strong sign sellers are losing momentum.
Then reactive buyers step in after the first bigger hand refuels the move to the upside.
