@profbarrydoyle@HistoryatHud Bazza D, thank you for everything. You taught me so much during my time at Huddersfield, both academically and how to be a better version of myself. I hope you have some great retirement plans because you deserve the world!
Thank you Baroness Lister for raising our latest report #WarmWelcome in the @HouseOfLords debate on the #IllegalMigrationBill. All children, regardless of route of entry to the UK, should be welcomed to the UK and have access to the support they need to feel safe and thrive.
Had such a wonderful two days at the #NationalCounterTraffickingCenter conference. Very proud of my wonderful North team who won 'Most Positive' team at the awards - they are always working with hope ⭐ #ICTG
I'm running the Race For Life on Saturday in memory of Maggie Wilson alongside her family and friends.

@UberFacts Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine. I think I read it in one sitting, went to sleep then immediately took it in to work to lend it to someone the next day raving about how brilliant it was.
@sereni_anna@ukhomeoffice Thank you Anna! There is no requirement to have travelled a 'legal route' to have been trafficked so I was baffled by that too. In fact those considered to have entered via a legal route e.g via plane, often have been given false documentation.
#ICTG supports children who have been trafficked &exploited. Any child. We provide direct support to children&specialist support to professionals. This Human Trafficking Awareness Day, we share examples of common support needs for trafficked children referred to #ICTG
(Thread-1)
Trafficking is a problem with all parts of society and the world. Both victims and perpetrators come from every race, culture and religion. Really brilliant thread below ⬇️
A thread on migrant trafficking..
In my book I briefly touched upon the fact that I had encountered victims of trafficking from overseas. I met girls from all over the world. Those that had the most impact on my life were the east Asian and eastern European girls..1/15
Really lovely new resource from Migrants Organise which can be used to discuss the national referral mechanism with those who may have experienced trafficking and exploitation. Worth saving if you're a caseworker or solicitor.
🛎️RESOURCE: We’ve created an illustrated “Guide to the National Referral Mechanism (NRM)” for survivors who have experienced trafficking to better understand the process of being referred into the NRM. 🧵👇

Not been too well today, which makes me grumpy but had a great network meeting with @sarahpritchsp and @alexwalsh92 about our passion to teach others the risks of county lines and how to support families and communities. Evening webinars coming to South Yorkshire & I can’t wait.
Pls share to stop confusion.
THERE IS NO £2,500 CAP ON ENERGY BILLS.
Instead the new 1 Oct guarantee, like the old caps, limits

- & Unit rates (10p/kWh gas, 34p/kWh elec)
So use more, pay more. £2,500 is just what someone with avg use'd pay
We are still recruiting for a #ICTG Regional Practice Coordinator in our #Midlands team covering WMids, EMids, Warwickshire, Bristol, Glos and Bedfordshire. Do you have what we are after??

"Our focus is on recovery - ensuring people are in education, embedded in their community, and enjoy the experiences they should have as a child." @alexwalsh92 from Barnardo's
@elissaben70 Hey @elissaben70, sorry to hear you are feeling lonely through this difficult time. My grandma has been taking a book and a crossword for hers, have you read anything good lately? I'm always looking for recommendations so would love to hear about anything you are enjoying x
