"The purpose of these schemes was found to have been to artificially inflate the club’s revenues, and reduce its costs, by more than £900 million during the affected period, to appear to comply with financial rules."
Bloody hell. That is obscene.
🚨 MAJOR BREAKING: Premier League confirm an independent Commission has found Manchester City GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, and the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with the League’s investigation.
The club has the right to appeal the independent Commission’s findings and has until Friday 2 October to exercise that right.
The Premier League Board’s intention is that the full process (including any appeals and publication of relevant decisions) is concluded as soon as possible.
The independent Commission found that between Seasons 2009/10 and 2017/18:
- Manchester City arranged ‘sham’ contracts (which misrepresented the true agreement between the parties) with a number of its commercial partners, as well as relying on ‘sham’ agreements with others, to artificially inflate the club’s revenues and reduce its costs
- The club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from its auditors and football regulators
- Manchester City was significantly in breach of both the Premier League’s and UEFA’s spending limits
- During the Premier League’s investigation, Manchester City committed multiple breaches of its duties of co-operation and utmost good faith towards the League (three of the four alleged breaches were upheld)
Fidel Castro was not, in fact, the hero that American socialists make him out to be today. He was a ruthless dictator who killed and tortured his own civilians.
This is what communism looks like: not a utopian society with “free healthcare,” but this.

‘Khaldoon [Al Mubarak] says he would rather spend £30m on the 50 best lawyers in the world and sue them [UEFA] for the next ten years than agree a financial penalty’
Simon Cliff, Man City legal counsel in April 2014
I remember when US presidents wouldn’t stand for smiling photo-ops with dictators, let alone praise them and loot their country with them. It mattered to us behind the Iron Curtain that our evil regimes had enemies who cared. Now the US is just another corrupt predator.
50 - Manchester United have lost at Old Trafford from 2+ goals ahead for the first time in over 50 years, since a 3-2 loss to Spurs in September 1976.
Preposterous.
Pro Ref has admitted an 'error of judgement' in awarding Manchester City's winner at Manchester United in their 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.
Erling Haaland's goal was initially disallowed for offside on the pitch before VAR overturned the decision.
🚨 Michael Carrick: “How you can say Enzo Fernandez does not interfer with the play literally is beyond me. It's staggering…”.
“It's really weird to me how that's interpreted”.
“I could not understand it when I saw it, and then the explanation made it WORSE”, told Sky.
🚨 Lisandro Martinez: “I think it was offside... I can't understand the rules!”.
“Every season they explain for one hour the rules, they look so confident with that, and then after five, six people doing these kind of mistakes in the Premier League - it's unacceptable!”.
“This is injustice”, told Sky.
The reason we don’t see major investors in 🇻🇪 like ExxonMobil or ConocoPhillips, but instead crypto players and former money launderers, is simple. Without democracy and the rule of law, there isn’t enough legal protection for serious investors to put substantial capital at risk.
Secretary Marco Rubio: You have just lost any trust Venezuelans ever had on you, and it will come to haunt you. You opted to use US power, not to free Venezuelans, but to go to bed with our oppressors. You opted to push an asset grab, an unconstitutional deal with an illegitimate oppressive government, instead of using US leadership to re-establish constitutional rule and democracy first, and then deal with a legitimate government that could have made credible long-term commitments, in due course. This announced deal will not stand. Delcy, contrary to what you boss just stated [see below] is not "highly respected" by any Venezuelan I know, or by any American outside of the Mar-a-lago kleptocracy. She has no legitimacy or constitutional power to commit Venezuela to any such deal. Venezuelans will not respect this illegitimate deal and no major US oil company will take it seriously because they know it will not last. No wonder you are using wanted criminals - like Alejandro Betancourt - to make this shameful deal. You are also preventing our leader - Maria Corina Machado - from returning to Venezuela, and you have conspired to delay elections and the return to democracy. Shameful.
