@john_grono@simonmaechling DDT was ‘banned’ for environmental reasons-it reduced the thickness of egg shells and there was a consequence for wild bird populations. DDT was fed to volunteers in American prisons to determine its tox safety. Its use probably saved’000’s of lives from insect borne diseases.
@simonmaechling Absolutely-trying to get that across is like pushing water uphill. If the anti pesticides movement knew the science and sophistication of the risk assessment process then looked under their kitchen sink cupboard, applied the same level of caution, we wouldn’t have half of them
